USA Children of the Corn Collection Box Set - October 7, 2014 Pre-Order

No cover art yet for this one but you can lock in the set for an insanely cheap price of $9.99 on Amazon or $8.99 on Best Buy. It will be interesting to see if this set also includes HD Digital redemption for the series much like the "Leprechaun" collection will the week prior to this release. Both are releasing from Lionsgate so there's a good chance. September/October is going to be a great couple of months for us HORROR fans!!!

It's just a re-release of the Echo Bridge releases.

Hmmm... I already have the first one and really hate the sequels, but that price is tempting

Yeah I know the series as a whole is rather lackluster, but mainly created the thread because of this pricing. I already have the original (as it really is the only one worth anything lol) but given how many films are currently in the series for 9 or 10 bucks it literally is a steal. With or without HD Digital redemption. Happy HORROR y'all

To clarify my above post, this will likely only have CotC III, IV, V, VI

You can actually still get the EB version right now on Amazon for $7.99 (see third party fulfilled by amazon seller)

https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Child...Blu-ray/29636/

I am assuming the LG version will be better though, as I can't imagine them putting them all on a single disc like the EB one. On the other hand, the cheap price would lead one to think it was

If by some chance it does include II and Revelations, I'll pick it up.

Already have the Echo Bridge disc though.

If that is the case and this set merely contains 4 of the films in the series then it's a complete pass for me. It should be titled properly to represent that, instead of branding it as just 'collection' which normally one would assume is a complete set of a series they should label it as a 'Volume' of some kind. Anyway we'll wait and see but your suggestion makes sense given the pricing

Okay, I really wish people would stop saying tha "its just a re-release of the Echo Bridge reeases".
WE DON'T KNOW THAT YET!!!

Echo Bridge didn't release Children of the Corn 2 or Children of the Corn 7: Revelations on blu-ray. Those ARE now with Lionsgate, so there is a huge chance that those will be incuded, so let's not spread false information and rumor as if it's fact. Its very likely this and the Hellraiser box set will be dramatically different. (Because Hellraiser 3 was not released by Echo Bridge on blu-ray either, but IS with Lionsgate, so that has a chance of improved as well). We can definitely assume that Children of the Corn: Genesis, the original Children of the Corn, and the remake won't be in this set, because of the pricing and the fact that they are with other labels and distributors.

Plus there is the fact that Echo Bridge released SEVERAL of their Miramax films in 1080i not 1080p (and I believe some in incorrect aspect ratios, but I'm not sure if that applies to these franchises). So all 1080p transfers alone would make this set better. Or porting over any Dimension extras, if there were any, which I'm not sure about. I know one or two of the Hellraiser sequel's Dimension DVDs had some bonus content.

I'd definitely be down for a 'Hellraiser' box set and I'm sure that one is in production given the continued interest in that property and all it has currently brewing. Fingers crossed!

Yeah I agree. They're doing the same thing with Halloween, and Hellraiser. Neither complete, just the EB releases:

They definitely won't be complete, but there's a good chance they all (except the Halloween set) WILL include films not yet released on blu-ray. (Those being Children of the Corn 2 / 7 and Hellraiser 3 which are with Lionsgate via Miramax too).

As I said two posts down.

Sorry, didn't mean to disregard your post, was just pointing out the poor titles used for these initial listings. I do hope you're right about it including more than just the EB ones

Judging from the price, the Hellraiser set will at least add Deader to the mix. The Children of the Corn set is still up in the air.

The main reason I think they'll be incuded is that Lionsgate has had exclusive rights to the entire Miramax cataog on Digital since before Echo Bridge obtained that half. So they definitey have HD versions of Hellraiser 3 and Children of the Corn: Revelations at the ready that could effortlessly be incuded.

The oddball is Children of the Corn 2: The Final Sacrifice, which doesn't currently have an HD master. If its included it would need to have been remastered in Hi-Def and that's something I don't see Lionsgate doing. Possibly upconverting it? I just want it on blu-ray its a fantastic follow-up IMO.

It just says Blu-Ray on BB and Amazon. SO that sounds like 1 disc to me.

BB's listing aren't usually specific, especially this early on.

I'm sorry, but for ten dollars I seriously doubt Lionsgate will have anything but the EB titles. The rest (well, the original and II) are with other labels anyway. Just being realistic.
