Looks good, as one might expect from Eureka, but I might wait for the standard release.

Don't expect something akin to Encounters of a Spooky Kind and you may not be disappointed. Just about all the martial arts in the film is in that trailer!

Been a few years since I last saw it, but always had a soft spot for Dead and Deadly, so this is a welcome announcement.

Torn with this - too silly for me and I know I won't ever watch the film again, but those extras are tempting. Unfortunately I'm at a point now financially where I really have to scrutinise my purchases.

Isn't just the slip limited? What does waiting do?

Booklet usually limited as well.

Waiting for standard means a lower price.

Eureka have been gradually increasing their single disc LE prices and they’re now around £19 day one. Many of their standard editions are £15 or in the 2 for £15 on Eureka website from day one.

So if you don’t mind losing a slipcase and booklet whilst waiting a few months you can save a few quid.

Obviously over time the standard version will fall under £10.

You'll be waiting a long time for anywhere near £10 or under. Those days are gone where Eureka releases would be under £10 consistently. The only titles lately I've seen that cheap have been the Montage ones. Older releases over the last few years seem to hover around £11-12 once they've been out a while.

I think the cheapest you'll get these is if/when Eureka drop them into a 2 for 25 or try your luck on ebay 2nd hand.

I love the fact that Eureka has opted to use the original theatrical poster for the slip. Long may that continue.

As for sub £10 Blu's from Eureka there are quite a few on the Deff.com website but not the martial art ones sadly.

I have a Hong Kong poster for the film and there are a few differences.

We've updated our packaging for our forthcoming release of THE DEAD AND THE DEADLY. The O-card Slipcase will now feature brand new artwork by Darren Wheeling, with the original poster artwork now featuring on the inner sleeve.

Eureka missed a trick by not releasing this for Halloween.

There's not a lot of kung fu in this, but if you enjoyed the spooky comedy of Mr. Vampire and Encounter of the Spooky Kind, you should enjoy it.
