The 2003 TMNT series has always had a rather problematic life on home video. DVDs were initially incomplete, volume releases only; then later on, a more seasonal approach was taken to the DVDs — but still annoyingly broken up into a Part 1 and Part 2 format. To this day, there still has not been an official, complete series release on DVD.
A proper Blu-ray release cataloging the entire run of the show would be ideal. At the very least, even a standard definition on Blu-ray would be better than nothing. However, I realize Nickelodeon (Paramount) likely does not have interest in this. More importantly, if the original 1987 TMNT cartoon can't get a Blu-ray release, then I don't see it happening anytime soon for the 2K3 series. On a personal note, I thought the 2K3 series was a well-made follow-up to 1987 original. It was more serious and mature—much like the 1990 feature film—which helped separate it from the 1987 and 2012 series. Here's to hoping fans can one day see a complete physical copy on disc.
