Default Super Mario Wonder

Quote:
Super Mario Bros. Wonder looks to deviate from the typical “New” Super Mario Bros. style of games with all-new power-ups, including one that can turn Mario (and his friends) into an elephant. Mario will be joined by Luigi, Peach, Toad, and Daisy in Super Mario Bros. Wonder, which looks like a bold new direction for Super Mario Bros. 2D games.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder is coming to Nintendo Switch on Oct. 20.

2D side scrolling obstacle courses with classic and new power ups? Peach playable instead of kidnapped? Daisy joins the fun too? Sign me up for that program!

Just used my 2 eshop vouchers for this and the Mario RPG remake. Really excited for both games, especially since my son is becoming a Mario fan. Maybe these will inspire him to finally play with those Mario Lego sets I bought him...

I'm def excited for this but would of been even more excited if it was another "Super Mario 3D World" title.

A new Mario game, and a remake of Mario RPG. Amazing!

I was getting down on Super Mario 2D games after the last few felt way too similar. But this game looks amazing and like a breath of fresh air.

Dark Moon is a solid game, and I'm glad to be getting it. But it's by far the weakest entry in the Luigi's Mansion series - especially with the storyline.

Dude. Come on. It's Luigi's Mansion, not The Last of Us. Lol.

I get that. I'm just saying the original Luigi's Mansion has a really interesting story for a Nintendo game, as well as a very interesting, unique set of ghosts. The 2nd game simply didn't have that charm/uniqueness to it.

Best Buy Plus really is one of the best deals there is for gamers. Buy 3 first party Nintendo games and it's only ~$40 each. I picked up Pikmin 4, Mario Wonder, and Mario RPG for $120 total.

It all makes sense now. Miyamoto is a legend, but his decisions in his later years overseeing games has been... spotty, to say the least. I can't imagine a Mario 2D game as refreshing and innovative as Wonder happening if Miyamoto were still micromanaging.

https://www.ign.com/articles/shigeru...io-bros-wonder

Quote:
Director Shiro Mouri and producer Takashi Tezuka gave an honest, insightful answer into Miyamoto’s role in the process. “With Wonder in particular, it wasn’t like Mr. Miyamoto was in our hip pocket during this whole time whispering in our ears or anything like that,” Tezuka said.

“Sometimes he would come by where we are working and look at things and give some opinions. He would generally observe things and make comments here and there, and even things that didn’t seem like they were big comments – I have worked with Mr. Miyamoto for a long time and really understand him, so I was able to get what he was implying or getting to and we would have conversations around those sorts of topics.”

“He did have a comment about Elephant Mario,” Mouri-san interjected, referencing one of the new forms Mario can take in Wonder.

“It was a phase where we still had tentative visuals for Elephant Mario, and we had plans to adjust the visuals already, but he had come and taken a look before that and he gave us the sharp comment that ‘This doesn’t look like a Mario character.’

Ooh, this really looks fun! I'm a VERY casual gamer at best, but this will be right up my alley.
