I think we can safely say this is Factions 2 but a new Bloomberg report today from Jason Schreier is the first kind of real confirmation we have of the game from a prominent video game reporter. (Yes, I know there was leaked gameplay a few years back.)

I wonder if the Bungie acquisition delays this game. I am sure Sony will want them to go over the live service aspects to avoid criticism at launch. A stale live service launch kills the life of a game.

I imagine The Last of Us "remake" will be like The Division, an online only game for multiple players.

Demon's Souls remake got rave reviews.
Dead Space remake is highly anticipated.
The Last of Us remake gets lots of hate.

Am I missing something? All 3 games are PS5 remakes of PS3 games. What makes them so different?

Probably because TLOU already got a PS4 remaster that still looks and runs great on PS5. The other two games did not. I'm firmly in the camp that a remake is totally unnecessary but whatever. I dont have to buy it if I dont want to. If it comes bundled with Factions 2, as I suspect it might, I'll probably get that.

As soon as I saw the trailer for The Day Before I really wanted a Division style TLOU game. It's a shame that The Day Before devs beat them to the punch.

That's true. The Day Before being online only also. I imagine fans of this one will still want to play it.

I think it is the logical step given that Naughty Dog said they want to make a narrative multi-player game that rivals their single player ones. Hoping they have DLC that lets us go to different parts of the country to obtain high level resources and weapons.

I would love to explore an open world like that where you could freely explore the pine forests and towns, freeways and cities broken down from the plague. Offline of course, which sadly won't happen with nearly all multiplayer games these days.

I understand it, as the developer and publisher don't want to encourage gamers to play offline, when all the money to be made from microsales is online through competition. I imagine the next Assassin's Creed game will be the same, online only sadly.

It wouldn't take much to have the AI enemies converge on the single player offline, but again, that's not their priority unfortunately.

I never played that game. Is that online only too. That stinks. But I don't think it has the types of scenery as seen in Last of Us series by a long shot.

Based off of the concept art they showed off today I think you are correct.
