Mate, I don't care how bad the reviews are. The trailer was fun. McKinnon is great in everything I've seen her in, as has Kunis ( including Jupiter Ascending, that I don't get that hate on).
If this is even 1/8 as funny as Spy, it'll be a good movie |

I completely agree Rough Night, Cockblockers, GameNight, and even Life of the Party(extra cute/corny smh lol) were all more than entertaining. All were bashed when i asked about them, yet i thoroughly emjoyed them all

The last modern comedy I've mostly enjoyed was Game Night. The banter was pretty solid and the chemistry between Bateman and McAdams (man, she's a cutie!) was palpable, though they did take things a bit too far every so often and that IMHO made it less funny or clever than it could have been.
Pushing the envelope is about the only thing going for comedy fare these days. Low brow is in. Last edited by FilmFreakosaurus; 08-03-2018 at 07:57 PM. |

+1 that Game Night was funny, but mainly cuz of the supporting cast (especially Plemons and Magnussen). McAdams was fine but Bateman was doing shtick we've seen from him plenty of times before. I did like that it leaned into the "live-action cartoon" thing.

The cinematography and editing did stand out. They were going for a live video game kind of vibe with the action camera work, keeping with the theme of playing... well... games. |

I heard nothing but good things about Game Night, and haven't heard anything good about all the rest of those.

Xxxx the haters!
![]() Honestly, after Ghostbusters, Grimmsby, and Chips, etc, I've found I no longer listen to any opinion on comedies. Seriously, Grimsby, with all the Trump hate, plus the This Is America love, I can't believe Grimsby hasn't been finally discovered... Look what they did to Trump in it!!! |

Went to watch this with a friend, as a favor. A few chuckles here and there. Not much else. She sorta liked it, it couldn’t end soon enough for me. Grating is a word that comes to mind. A few good action sequences weren’t enough to save this movie. Just my two cents worth.
Not knocking those that liked it. We all have our guilty pleasure crap movies. I really enjoy The Happening and I proudly admit it. ![]() |
