Can't see Scorpion beating Subkultur's presentation of this, but im waiting to be proved wrong.

I seriously doubt it either, but the new extras certainly sound promising... and being so limited and going OOP so quickly would probably be a good investment to double dip.

Never heard of this before, but it sounds great. I've never seen any '70's horror flicks I haven't liked. May get this.

I'm picking this up for 2 reasons: It's a 2016 transfer (not sure what Subkultur used for their BD but a newer transfer HAS to be better) and because it's always nice to have a native-region version of a film I enjoy. DGITH isn't in my top 10 or anything but I do like the movie.

I remember Based Stephen Thrower saying. Back when this was released the director sat in on Friday The 13th and everyone as screaming and shouting and having a good time. When he sat in with an audience to watch his film it was dead silence.

Those are the best kind! Give me downbeat 70's loner lunatics stalking urban streetwalkers over crowd-pleasing 80's mask-wearers slashing big-haired partying teens in the woods any day. (Not that Don't hits all those check-points, but it fits the template.) I'll definitely double-dip for the new extras, as this one is a favorite.

I'm on the fence with this one, because I have a threshold for how much sadism I can watch during slasher movies/horror movies, as much as I love the genres in overall terms. The Last House on the Left (1972) and Don't Answer the Phone are two examples of films that I own, but that push the envelope of what I can endure as far as mean-spirited horror goes.
On the other hand, though, I love the gritty exploitation vibe of these types of 1970s films. I'll probably go all in for a blind buy of Don't Go in the House , but I'll try to talk myself out of it for a while. |

Don't Go In The House doesn't seem as harsh as Last House on the Left. I actually like DGitH more. I own the German Blu and will buy this edition also. I love how creepy this film is. I didn't know anything about the storyline when I did my blind buy and I think it made the film more intense. Loved the atmosphere and the performances.
Just have to say this film is creepy and very well made. |
