Paramount The Andy Griffith Show : The Complete Series - December 7, 2021

https://www.moviezyng.com/the-andy-g...h/810044715842

Quote:
Synopsis:

Travel back to a simpler time, when the biggest problems for Mayberry sheriff Andy Taylor (Andy Griffith) came from the hijinks of his excitable-but-goodhearted deputy, Barney Fife (the inimitable Don Knotts), and the trials of raising his young son, Opie (Ron Howard). Named by TV Guide as one of the best shows of all time, and immensely popular throughout its entire 1960-68 run, The Andy Griffith Show was stepped in nostalgia even in its own time, set in a world where there was little that couldn't be solved with home cooking by Aunt Bee (Frances Bavier). Forget your troubles and join Gomer, Goober, Floyd and many more beloved characters for all eight seasons and 249 episodes of hilarious small-town adventures. Welcome home to Mayberry!

Same. That cover art is atrocious (especially compared to the nice-looking season 1 art), but glad it’s coming out.

I was wondering if Paramount would release a complete series box set for The Andy Griffith Show and I Love Lucy after they announced a complete series box set for another abandoned TV series (MacGyver). I guess we have our answer now. Now bring on the complete series box set for I Love Lucy!

It's been a good year for Don Knotts fans with this announcement and The Love God finally being released on blu-ray.

Excellent news! I imagine a complete series set of I Love Lucy will be right around the corner to time with the release of Being the Ricardos. Hoping like hell that Happy Days happens too with all the music intact.

Looks like Happy Days isn’t even complete on DVD (although the show is unwatchably bad after what they’ve already released IMO).

I remember this series fondly from my childhood, watching with my grandparents, I may have to pick this up and relieve my childhood.

I have the first six seasons on DVD and I'd jump at a complete series Blu-Ray set in a heartbeat.

Son of a... I mean great, of course, but I just bought the BD of season 1 a month ago. Guess I'm the one who performed the sacrifice this time. You're all welcome.

Can’t wait for this been hoping for this since the first season came out. I rather just have the seasons with Don Knotts. 32 discs sounds like some will end up scratched.

I do wonder if the MSRP is correct? I see the DVD release of this on Amazon, and it has the exact $76.99 SRP as what moviezyng lists.

Fair question, because MacGyver is $127 with 1 more disc.

Or, the disc count is off.

25 minute show vs 48 minute show.

I originally had a comment about CBS/P charging by content included, but Mac is listed at 6800+ minutes and Andy is 6300+ minutes, so 500 minutes probably shouldn't account for $50.

And any other shows they've remastered for HD, like Cheers.

This was a big part of why I supported the Mission Impossible release last year (well, and wanting the episodes in HD for a good price)... for the hope of more cheap CBS/P shows on Blu. Looks like it may have worked.
