FYI This has a 4k DCP. So whenever it gets a database entry, someone be sure to post it in the 4k masters thread.

The trailer doesn't say much really. Looks like it's a slower movie. Potential for some nice HDR. In any case, good to see another RLJE release.

Saw this a few months ago. Tonally it's nothing at all like the story, unfortunately. More campy, bombastic stuff in the vein of every other schlocky Lovecraft movie adaptation. Cage signals his spiral into madness by doing a Trump accent lol. It'll probably look good in 4K, though.

Politics is a no no. Watch yourself.

Some folks are very sensitive. Me I'm insensitive. Works great. Schlocky yeah even reanimated the best adaptatition is really whacky. Amazing when u consider how serious Minecraft was about his craft. That guy just loved writing Cray Cray stuff. Some of it had a poetic side also.

I was hoping that Richard Stanley would do proper justice to the material. In interviews, he claimed to understand "Lovecraft's work". It's unfortunate this is one more failed attempt at adapting Lovecraft's work to the silver screen.

Robert Eggers would be the best fit to do an authentic Lovecraft adaptation. Too bad he's already gone on record saying he has no desire to do one :/

If it's like the old Re-Animator movies, I'm game. I love HP Lovecraft books and I'm okay with people doing their own creative takes on the source material. Not everything needs to be 100% by the book.

If Madman are the distributors, I wouldn't be so sure. Madman has a bad habit of doing DVD only for a lot of their releases that really should get a BD release (eg. The Hummingbird Project, The Killing of a Sacred Deer).

Umbrella released it theatrically so I'm assuming they're doing physical as well. Which gives us probably less chance than with Madman, or if they do it'll be an absolute bare-bones disc 3 months after the fact

Might delete the word Tru** around here, I got banned for a short period for using a word which starts: Dem***** and the context was neither political nor negative. It was quite confusing and I even received a message that says I knew better because I've been on this site for a long time? For a comparison, it would be like someone with a power Trip suddenly banning people for using the word, "Egg"...it was that confusing.
