Default Least Favorite films that Won Oscars

So while I don’t watch or care for the Oscars anymore I have seen some of the films that have won Oscars that I didn’t like one being Out of Africa winning best picture over a number of other better titles I probably forgot. Anyways I actually despise this film it’s one of the most boring generic romantic dramas I’ve ever seen. It’s also a film I almost fell asleep watching it’s slow, boring and it’s probably one of if not my least favorite film of all time that won a number of Oscars.

And honestly I don’t know why something this boring and generic won it’s literally just a film for the actors to have a vacation in Africa and have a romantic relationship in the film. That is all this film is no wonder nobody remembers this boring turd of a film.

Anyways what are your least favorite Oscar winners that won Oscars that didn’t deserve the Oscars they got? As mine is Out of Africa but there’s some others I also didn’t like but Out of Africa is the main offender for Me.

I haven't watched the Oscars either, in many years. I used to enjoy them as a kid, but over time the show devolved into a bunch of self-important back-slapping for Hollywood's elite. Its far less about the movies anymore, and instead focuses on the celebs lecturing from the podium, to viewers how they think we should live...instead of being honest with us about how they actually do live.

Yes exactly totally agree with this entire statement one of the many reasons I stopped watching them too.

The Broadway Melody, bar none. Not even trying to imagine how novel it was back in 1929 helps it.

Braveheart

A pretentious 13th century revenge fantasy gore-fest.

My uncle took me to see that when I was 15, and I fell asleep 30 minutes in. I didn't wake up until Mel Gibson was being executed, and I've tried to revisit the movie a few times, but I just couldn't get into it.

For me it was Shakespeare in Love and Crash. Almost every film nominated with these two movies deserved to win.

I was working in Mombasa, Kenya at the time they were filming "Out of Africa" nearby. One time a group of those in my work team went to a restaurant and were told that Robert Redford and Meryl Streep had just been there.

I actually like this film, and think it was as good or better than the others nominated for Best Picture with only "Witness" being serious competition. My least favorite Best Picture winner was "Parasite" (2019). I like Korean movies, but not this one. This supplanted "Birdman" (2014) in my disdain, which had replaced "Terms of Endearment" (1983) in my disregard.

Me personally I don’t like it but if there are some that like it well that’s fine we’ve got different opinions on this film anyway.

“Slumdog Millionaire” SUCKS. “The Wrestler” should’ve won for 2008!

I haven't been a fan of any best picture winners since No Country For Old Men won in 2007. They haven't gotten it right in 16 years.

I figure any Oscar is a lofty prize, though films like Tarzan, Avatar, or Toy Story 3 weren't favorites of mine.

'Juno' stands out among them all.

What a horrible movie. With some absolute garbage dialogue.

"Honest to blog!" -- A line from an Academy Award winning film, ladies and gentlemen.

Oscar statues are highly overrated. They're not much more than solid bronze, plated in 24-karat gold...and if they break for some reason, the Academy just sends winners a replacement. The so-called "status" the statues represent seems to have lessened drastically in recent years, except in the minds of the Hollywood elite who still idolize them.
