I would prefer to purchase a 720p Blu-ray video of Super Bowl 42 instead of the 480p DVD currently available (perhaps with highlights from the Giants 2007 season). Do you think the NFL/FOX will release a high-definition video soon ?
They know a lot of us Giants fans own flat panels with Blu-ray players attached (or will soon) here in New York/New Jersey. |

NFL.com just posted an article about filming the super bowl.

It was broadcast in 720p on FOX, but the release would probably be 1080p. I currently have a 720p HDTV so for me it would be 720p, but the 2nd HDTV I plan to get in a couple of months to replace my living room Sony CRT will be 1080p.

I get a kick out of your member name. When I'm in Germany, I usually have the Dampfnudel desert with hot vanilla sauce.

I'm in, even though I have it on HD tivo. I would like it with the narrator from HBO's Inside the NFL.

A DVD can be cranked out very quickly, they simply cannot make a blu-ray that fast.
I wouldn't even want to think about what a "season box" of a team's NFL games would cost on licensing alone The network that produced the show has to be paid, the announcers because a new contract would have to be signed (something like that is not included in the standard) etc Seriously, I think it'll be at least 3-4 years before you get a "best-of" release like that of a single team |

This is not true. NFL retains all rights. The networks only have the right to broadcast the games, not sell. |
