[Show spoiler]Isn’t that what the spoiler tags are for in the other thread?

Yes, but sometimes people want to have lengthy discussions about certain movies without having to put spoiler tags in every single post. I’ve seen spoiler threads for other movies, so I thought I’d make one for the new Halloween movie.

I’ll never understand going on a message board before you seee a movie. That’s basically asking for spoilers.

I wish they had played the twist up more. I didn't mind the idea of the doctor being so consumed by Michael that he wants to watch his evil in action, but it came across like a very out-of-nowhere twist. There was the one throwaway line of him telling Michael he was going to be at his side during the prison transfer, but I feel like it would've came across better had there been hints throughout that the doctor was up to no good / contributed to the bus crash / etc.

I can't believe that Michael turned out to be Laurie's brother!

I thought the "by your side" comment was about as subtle as a sledgehammer. I immediately figured it out once I heard that. Any more hints and I don't think it could be considered a twist.

After seeing it for the second time. I think the Sartain twist is a little nod to the cult in H6. I actually enjoyed the the twist the second time around. It's really nothing to complain about, especially since it ends quickly after that one scene and never brought up again.

I was thinking the exact same thing while watching the film. I got a little bit scared because for a second I thought Michael was dead and Sartain was going to be the new “Shape.” Haha.

Almost felt like the three screenwriters wrote separate scripts and they just melded them all together.

Isn’t that how the first was done? Debra hill wrote all the teenage girly stuff and John Carpenter wrote the horror stuff.

I wonder how scream 4 would be received if it was released today and it didn’t have the number 4 attachment to it’s name it would probably do extremely well

It was smart to just name this Halloween

Iv been thinking micheal didn’t know where Laurie was and she was out hiding in her house and she says “I’ve waited for him...he’s waited for me” but did he really he didn’t give a shit about Laurie he was happy doing his random killing spree before she interrupted him.

So Laurie would have been hiding down in that cellar but he never would have known where she was or cared unless the doctor brought him there no?

She would have been hiding down there forever cause he wouldn’t have come to her home until that twist

I don't think they spent any time worrying about that stuff. I'm still wondering why Michael ended up chilling out in the closet of a kid who one of Laurie's granddaughter's best friends happened to be babysitting. He wasted no time at all with his first few random kills in Haddonfield and then he decided to just take a break in that closet?

I give the writers kudos for taking a day off to watch all the old Halloween movies so they could write in all sorts of various bits of fan service, but I never got the sense that they spent much time collaborating to put together a script that made much sense.

The two things that stood out to me were: 1.) Where did the Doctor get the mask? When he put on it ventured into cheesy territory there. And 2.) Nobody blinked an eye or acknowledged anything regarding the death of the dad.

Other than having Laurie's Theme included and those two previous points I really liked it very much . Hopefully a 4k steelbook from Best Buy is coming.

The mask? He pulled it off Michael when he got hit by the car.

A- for me.

Hated the Sartain twist. Especially since it comes over one of my favorite sequences (Oscar’s death)

I wish they had used Laurie’s interview for a little more exposition about the aftermath of 1978 or at least mentioned Annie Lynda and Bob by name.
