I don't see much of anyone talking about this movie.
It's good. And to me, really good. And dare I be so bold, but I think it's much, much better than Anora, which received all kinds of acclaim, while this movie has gone largely unnoticed, yet covers some similar ground. All the actors' performances are solid, particularly the lead. The child actor is also very strong. Nothing feels overly forced or farcical, and the lead, her child, and one character who helps her are flawed and make mistakes, but the reason why they do is conveyed well, and empathy can be felt for them. It has a made-on-demand, unpressed blu-ray release from this past summer (2025). I had to report the information to the site because it wasn't even listed. It's also currently streaming on Amazon. YouTube, and a couple other places. Last edited by adamjankowski; Yesterday at 05:15 PM. |
