It's a parenthetical plural.

https://lawprose.org/lawprose-lesson...etical-plurals

https://www.businesswritingblog.com/...envelopes.html

In this case I think the title refers to there being multiple contexts for the word 'frontier' (border). It's about thieves trying to escape the French border but the film's taglines are "there are limits not to cross" and "what are your boundaries".

Granted you could have had the same effect by just calling it "Frontiers" but...

£27.99 +++ ??!!!

Are Second Sight kidding ??

Whilst I've bought previous items - I think that they are taking the P*** now with these prices - just for a BOOK and a few pieces of cardboard.

Yes - I will waiting for the non limited edition - when it gets cheaper

Plus £3.29 shipping! I buy all my SS limited editions direct from them but they’re royally taking the p*** now. They don’t even offer a loyalty point scheme so there’s zero reason to buy direct when I can get it for £29.99 from HMV with free postage.

I’d expect a 4K disc for that price though, not a poxy Blu-ray.

Well, it is down to £23.33 now. And the standard edition is already available to preorder.

I like what Second Sight are doing but I'll be going standard with all their future releases - not impressed with their books, too padded out with graphics and stills and mini essays taking three times the usual page count due to the design and layout wanting to fill up the pages. Arrow do this too sometimes. The films and quality extras will be enough for me.

Including shipping? It's showing as £23.33 for me, but that's admittedly before shipping. I'm in the US, so maybe there's something going on with that, but it looks like the regular UK site to me.

Uncharacteristically for Second Sight, it's a dud.

Horrible ancient DVD-era transfer.

May looks... solid...ish.
Not the freshest scan for sure, and the booklet of neither film gives any background on the source materials, but while May appears to be from a decent 2K scan of some film element (interpositive? I see some black dirt), Frontier(s) is just a full disaster.

Both discs have been FiM encoded, but that can't save Frontier(s) either.

Maybe, but that's a red herring argument.

So is The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, and look what could be wringed out of that '70s 16mm film stock. A stellar release from the same label nonetheless.

Frontier(s) remains a film shot on, well, actual 35mm film. What's on the disc falls far short of any reasonable scan of even the grubbiest film stock imaginable. Instead, it looks like a heavily processed DVD-era telecine.

Sorry to hear that. My copy from Orbit is en route. I wonder if it's a situation where the film elements were not up to par. In any case, I'll be very disappointed if this is a misfire.
