Picked it up dirt cheap last week only really for Mia Goth although I did like Brandon Cronenberg's Possessor (took years to watch it).

Didn't really like it. They should have cut out the lead's wife as there was no tension there and maybe they could have made him a lonely alcoholic struggling writer. Cliché but it works.

I did like some of the characters but I really couldn't help but notice the similarity of the immersion scene:

So far I haven't liked any of Brandon Cronenberg movies, despite interesting cast or online buzz; I saw Possessor on many people's best of the year list, but the same 'disconnect' I had with that movie or what it was trying, I had with Infinity Pool;

Which is it felt like a Black Mirror episode where they started shooting with an unfinished screenplay and they shot a lot of unnecessary scenes to get to the 100 min run time.

I'd only ever consider getting this at bargan bin price for Mia Goth and Alexander Skarsgard, who are both great actors, but wasted on stuff like this.

Been meaning to get the 4K from the US, looks like that's still the case

Really enjoyed Infinity Pool (Goth's performance, as usual, is excellent). Liked Possessor a little more, though. Antiviral isn't bad, either. Cronenberg's style can be a bit standoffish. Still, he makes interesting films in an era almost exclusively filled with complete, disposable trash.

They keep delaying it but there will be a 4K from Turbine in Germany. Might want to wait it out because it’ll surely beat the U.S. one.

Not keen on the UNCUT banner. What's uncut? When Mia done the reach around on Skarsgård I was thinking oooer, is Cronenberg Jnr gonna push the boat out and use a stand in or something? That would have grabbed my attention.

That police detective was played brilliantly. Maybe best acting in the film.


I only watched Possessor for the great Andrea Riseborough although I was still suprised I liked the film. Not seen Antiviral.
