Was just about to make a thread for this lol. Haven't seen this one, but Belmondo and Sharif in a heist/thriller sounds like my kind of film.

It's relatively light in tone, but a good one -- mostly noted over the years for a really fun Remy Julienne-designed car chase. Solid Morricone score, too -- a remastered CD just came out the end of last year.

Pretty much gave up hope we would ever see this get a release since it was Sony. Maybe they will release Fear Over the City as well?

Either way, day one for me!

This is a great film, but there is a 2020 region-free German release with both versions and substantial extras, all of which are English-friendly. It was originally available in two Mediabooks (Digibooks) but since 2023 is now available in an amaray case version:

I posted some information on the German release in the thread here:

https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=336055

Unless the Sony release is newly remastered or has those extras included, the German amaray release may be a better option.

Does the German release have the same level of quality for both cuts of the film? I have an early copy of the new Sony release and the original International Version looks stunning, while the U.S. Version has wildly desaturated colors.

Ugh. They screwed up the transfer on the US cut.
Compared the two versions and it’s night and day. The opening credits on the international cut are red while the U.S. cut is so desaturated the color is now almost pink.

Very frustrating. Does the German Blu-ray US cut look like this also?

So the French version looks good?

Yeah the international cut looks fine.

US cut is totally washed out.

Thanks. I've not seen this film in any of the cuts, but was planning on watching it in French. Reading about it sounds like it was filmed twice in both languages, but not sure if that's accurate.

She really is something. One of the most charismatic, naturally funny, and loveliest ladies of the period, and quite underrated as well.

A few have asked about subtitles, but… is there also an English dub available for the international cut on either the German 2-disc or the new Sony MOD?

Apologies for the late reply - I didn't see that there was new activity in the thread.

For the Sony Blu-Ray release, here is the breakdown of the two discs in terms of subtitles and audio tracks.

International Version (Disc 1)

Audio: French Mono (DTS-HD 2.0 MA)

Subtitles: English

U.S. Version (Disc 2)

Audio: English Mono (DTS-HD 2.0 MA), Spanish Mono (DTS-HD 2.0 MA)

Subtitles: English SDH

Hello. I’m about to pull the trigger on this, but just wanted to confirm it’s region-free (or all region)

Thank you.
