Amazon set up a 4K release for this before the reviews were even out, meanwhile most of their well regarded movies, like Challengers, American Fiction or Nickel Boys, are lucky to even get a low effort BD.

Hopefully this gets a UK release so I don't have to import this one. I mean, I had to import The Beekeeper on 4K Blu-ray from the US since that didn't get a UK release.

They both feel like the same budget level, but the Keebeeper had better writing, acting, and scenery-chewing baddies. (it's not the greatest of cinema but was a fun ride) This one misses on all that, plus, I thought the action was far dumber and there were so many WTH moments that made it sillier than it should have been. </2bits>

I'll add that it was an utterly joyless experience that couldn't even be bothered to make any of the kills exciting or even interesting

I wonder if David Ayer’s contract with MGM stipulated specific home video releases. This is movie-only like The Beekeeper so making the discs satisfies that contract.

That's pretty much how all Amazon MGM release have been for the last few years, barebones.

I wanted to see this theatrically, but I'm not going to get the chance. However, I'm really bothered by the many saying something along the lines of "this wasn't as good as The Beekeeper", because I thought The Beekeeper was really poor and was shocked to see the broadly positive reaction to it.

Yeah, I didn’t like the Beekeeper as much as I was expecting to after all the positive reviews, and I’m a big Statham fan. I guess I shouldn’t have expected much - should have kept my expectations in check with the majority of his films.

Yeah I didn't like it much either. For me it wasn't built up too much, it was just like they didn't try. The beekeeper just felt like a formula going through the motions with terrible actors. It didn't feel like the typical Statham movie. I'm really hoping A Working Man is better.

Seems a waste Statham going the path of Seagal. I keep hoping he gets back to comedy.
