Severin is in the UK now? Not giving us the US limited version isn't a wonderful start.

At least it's all region free, that's the next best thing to having a local release.

The movie is a lot of fun, although they're not really clones - more like they've been through the photocopier a few times too many.

Severin Films has been in the UK for 9 years. I think their The Killing in America was the first Blu-ray. They have a lot of British ties with David Gregory co-founder of Severin interview

US also getting that smaller set https://severinfilms.com/en-gb/colle...-bruce-blu-ray

That store exclusive will be very popular I reckon.

This Clones set would have been the perfect opportunity to finally put out a proper, full fat, full beans, give it the slipper HD transfer of God-tier film Bruce Lee Fights Back From The Grave.

Alas, the wait goes on...and that 35mm Aquarius print sat locked up in the University of Wisconsin grows ever closer to being lost forever as it rots away.

What a shame.

I suspect there are a couple of things preventing that, one of the main problems being the sheer cost of for and indie company going to the BBFC with that many titles and extras to be classified.

The other is that there might be a load of licensing problems, with a small company buying the rights to one of the titles without actually releasing (or even intending to release) it, possibly in the hope of seeing its value accumulate when a bigger company wants it. This has certainly happened before (to Criterion, no less, who eventually sat it out and finally released this particular one in the UK) and given how cheaply the rights to some of the Bruceploitation probably were in the past, it wouldn't surprise me if this was the case.

Question: I started a thread about Santa Sangre being released in the UK but it seems to have disappeared. Does it have to go through some kind of approval if I've not listed a thread before?

I presume that it was deleted because there's already a thread for the old Mr. Bongo release, and the info about the upcoming Severin release has already been posted there.

Anyway, it's nice that this documentary is getting a UK release, but I really don't like this recent trend of the US getting full box sets, and the UK only a single disc with a documentary. I skipped the Al Adamson documentary, and I'll probably skip this as well, unless I find a very good price (I believe there was one more similar case recently?).

This is not the movie THE CLONES OF BRUCE LEE but a documentary about Bruceploitaion. THE CLONES OF BRUCE LEE is contained in the US GAME OF CLONES box set, though.

To be fair, the documentary is titled ENTER THE CLONES OF BRUCE which is distinct enough from the box set and movie titles.

As someone who picked up some of these Bruce "Clone" films when they came to video in the UK in the early 90's, I really enjoyed this, remembered the guy from The Man The Myth, and one of the others, but dont think I ever saw any Dragon Lee or Bruce Lo films. Certainly threw up some titles i'd never heard of, plus was interested in the Jim Kelly movies he made after ETD as the Black Dragon, have these ever been released?

Black Belt Jones & Three the Hard Way have both been released in the US on the Warner Archive label and are region-free. Black Belt Jones is a blast!

Kelly made one other Hong Kong movie, THE TATTOO CONNECTION AKA BLACK BELT JONES. Sadly it's only available in 4:3 with a rather naff dub (Kelly is dubbed by a different black man with a lisp, everyone else with Australian accents!) but it is fun.

Melinda (his first film) will be released by Warner Archive end of this month.
Black Belt Jones was released by Warner Archive.
Three the Hard Way was released by Warner Archive.
Golden Needles was released by Kino Lorber.
Take a Hard Ride was released by Timeless Media.
Hot Potato is unreleased.
Black Samurai was released by Severin as part of their Al Adamson collection (now OOP).
The Tattoo Connection is unreleased.
Death Dimension was released by Severin as part of their Al Adamson collection (now OOP).
One Down, Two to Go is unreleased.
Afro Ninja is unreleased.

And that's everything he was in.
Sorry for turning this in to the Jim Kelly thread!
