Elvira's back and she's fabulous! With her voluptuous figure, voluminous black hair and hilarious one-liners, the essence of camp oozes from her pores. Elvira's Haunted Hills culls its outrageousness from the classic Vincent Price/Edgar Allan Poe/Roger Corman films of the early '60s, along with a little Rocky Horror Picture Show and Fearless Vampire Killers.

The tale begins in 1851, when Elvira and her maid Zou Zou are en route to perform in the Parisian Revue "Yes I Can Can," but inadvertently end up at the sinister Lord Vladimere Hellsubus' medieval castle. Bearing an uncanny resemblance to Vladimere's long-dead wife, Elvira learns of the Hellsubus curse and finds her life in danger. Will she escape the family curse and the evil Vladimere? And can she keep her hands off of the stable hand long enough to save the day?

Well I will definitely be getting this, but I only watched it once and found it hard to sit through.
Hopefully it will be picked up in Europe too as Shout is region-locked.

I only saw this when it came out. Didn't care for it. But it's been long enough to give it another shot. So I'm in for this!

Very excited for this. Didn't think we'd get it on Blu since it's not quite as beloved or as good as the first film. But as a huge Elvira fan; I'll be grabbing it day 1. Wonder if Scream will have a poster with a pre-order for it?

I just recently bought the coffin DVD set so if they start releasing the Movie Macabre episodes on blu-ray you can thank me

Pretty sure she owns the rights to this film so Scream must have made a direct deal with her. Hopefully that means we'll get some decent extras with her involvement.

The coffin tin is a nice-looking collection, physically, but the visual quality of the discs is abysmal. Blocky and jagged, the movies look like old-time video downloads. I don't know the tech terms, but like the days when it took an hour to download a movie trailer via modem over the phone lines.

They're essentially public domain films so I'm not surprised they'd look like crap on a set like this. Definitely not something I'll throw onto the projector haha.

I don't think there's much hope her show will ever get blu-ray releases so these DVD's might be the best we get. Although, I believe she has the rights to all her segments so it might be possible if the elements are available and she's willing to license like she did with Haunted Hills. Shout has actually released some of the films on blu-ray, like The Manster and The Wasp Woman so having a decent presentation is not out of the question.

I hope Cassandra stipulates original art only for this release so we don't get more ugly floating-heads-comic-book-art from Shout.

I'll still buy it anyway, even if it does.

I can't fully retire my DVD, since Elvira autographed my copy, but I'll be more than happy to upgrade to Blu regardless.

Between this, Alone in the Dark, and the Halloween UHDs that were leaked, it looks like SF is getting a bunch of my money in September...

The art should be "floating cleavage," a parody of the SF "floating heads" style.

Regardless, SF offers original art on the reverse.

It seems like they've already started to move away from that art style, if House of Wax and Brotherhood of the Wolf are anything to go by.

Hoping the art matches the standard version of Arrow's Mistress of the Dark. But knowing Shout it'll end up looking like Arrow's Steelbook version art.

100% day one. Even if it doesn't match "Mistress of the Dark", it's still a hilarious send up of the old Hammer films and Richard O'Brien makes a wonderful screen partner, especially once he goes off the rails.

Plus who can say no to this?
