I suppose it just took that long. Anything that requires approval (like, the Dolby Vision HDR grade or maybe the Atmos mix) is dependant on the schedule of the persons who do the approving. Though this is just my speculation.

I'm not familiar with Turbine at all (I only have their Possessor 4K release).
Once these limited editions sell out, do they sometimes/always release a standard edition, or once these are gone, that's it? The fear of missing out is strong, so I've "semi-begrudgingly" ordered from Turbine. I was hoping to purchase from Amazon Germany, since I've got a gift card balance that needs to be spent... In regards to customer service for international overseas customers, how are they at dealing with shipping damage and importantly, scratched discs? I've been getting more scratched German-made discs recently than Mexican. I'm under the impression Turbine discs are made in Germany. |

But since Infinity Pool doesn't have a UHD release in the UK, yet, I can wait and see what happens there. Hoping for Second Sight (they did Possessor). And then I'd wish I never bought the Turbine release. |

Depends on the perspective. As a customer you don't have to wait months with an open pre-order for your desired release, and as a company, there's higher reliability in planning. When stock is secured, complete and ready, they start to sell. And often their releases sell out, so it seems it works for them.

Nothing stupid about that.
I suppose they made bad experiences in the past, when releases were announced in advance and then got delayed. As of now, they usually only announce them when they already have them in stock. Especially with those special elaborate packages, you also might get a certain part damaged during manufacturing or transit. And if the release is limited, this might actually lead to the situation when they wouldn't be able to fullfill all preorders (say, they got preorders in for 666 copies in advance, and 50 of them arrive damaged), which is always not a good thing. |

Infinity Pool was far and away my favorite film of 2023. I've been eagerly anticipating this Turbine UHD since the relatively disappointing Decal release over a year ago. I'm looking forward to this upgrade over the former every bit as much as I had for Turbine's Possessor Uncut, both in terms of audio and video.
Cover C (as confirmed by Christian Bartsch) was created by Ksenia Lanina, the same artist responsible for the Possessor Uncut Mediabook design. I was glad to hear they are continuing to commission her work, as this cover was my immediate choice. ![]() ![]() Last edited by TheShape31; 01-13-2025 at 04:38 PM. |

I really liked this film. It's not for everyone but it's compelling. The HDR grade felt broken to me on the current 4K so I'm definitely down for a double dip if it's fixed.
I'm not a mediabook guy though unless it's the only option. I might wait it out a bit to see if Second Sight or someone else grabs it. |

I too went for Cover C as it is easily my favorite. Plus I have the Possessor Mediabook by the same artist.
