A close call for me.

The Godfather gets my vote but only by a minuscule amount.

Apocalypse Now would have been my choice but while the film is a masterpiece for about the first two hours, it loses some steam when they reach Kurtz's camp. The issue with the final 20 minutes of the film is understandable when you see Eleanor Coppola's brilliant documentary Hearts of Darkness: A Filmmaker's Apocalypse and see Coppola's whole issue with the "Brando problem" that many have said lets the film down in the final act.

The Godfather Part II is also a very close call. It is every bit as compelling as its predecessor.

These three films are, by far, Coppola's best films; each a masterpiece in their own right.

Best Blu-ray Movie Deals
