Default Stardust (2020)

Quote:
Musician and actor Johnny Flynn will play David Bowie in the upcoming feature Stardust.

Jena Malone and Marc Maron will also star in the movie that tracks the rise of the superstar, starting with his first visit to America in 1971 — a trip that inspired the invention of his iconic alter ego, Ziggy Stardust.

Emmy winner Gabriel Range will direct from a script by Christopher Bell (The Last Czars). Salon Pictures (McQueen) is behind the feature.

Principal photography is set for June 2019. SOURCE

Tilda Swinton would've been better for Bowie, IMO.

I expected a Bowie biopic to attract much bigger names. I've never heard of the director or the star; only Jena Malone registers with me. Of course, that doesn't mean the film will be worthless. I just think Bowie deserves a higher-profile production.

Oh well, if things go south, we'll always have Velvet Goldmine.

I can't wait to see him alongside Malek's Freddie Mercury and Egerton's Elton John in the culmination of the Rock Star Biopic Cinematic Universe.

So it won't even be like Bohemian Rhapsody that includes the music (let alone the blessing of Bowie's family).

I am not totally surprised. That casting is so poorly done it could be a biopic about anybody.

And after watching Suspiria, I know she would nail the part. I'm excited for this either way, cause I love Bowie.

Any biopic about Bowie would only reduce him. Glad to see Duncan Jones came out against this film.

Although if someone were to do a film about him, it should come through Jones.
