Default Sword of the Valiant?

This site announced in May 2019 that Scorpion would be releasing Sword of the Valiant on Blu-ray probably in the summer of 2019. It appears that never happened. Does anyone know what's going on with it?

Curious about this myself. Was really looking forward to this potential release.

I wrote Scorpion Releasing about it directly but no response.

I just discovered that on 8/17/2020, Scorpion Releasing posted on their Facebook page that Sword of the Valiant is coming soon. So it's not a dead project after all.

I've never heard of Ronin before. Are they any good with pre-orders? Does anyone think SotV will be exclusive to them, or will someone else get any copies for sale?

Ronin are good to order from, I've probably placed 50+ separate orders with them over the last few years.

This won't be a pre-order though. It'll be available tomorrow to ship immediately after.

It will probably be an exclusive to Ronin at first for domestic orders. Diabolik should offer it within days for International orders, and then also offer domestic orders after a couple of months have passed.

Well, I ordered it. I read some reviews of the film (not the blu-ray specifically) and had some serious misgivings but decided to go with my vague memories and pull the trigger anyway. Will report back once I've watched it.

I got a shipping notice just a bit ago. Very excited, I used to watch this a lot on late-night TV as a kid.

Do we know why there are two covers shown? I have no idea which one I'll be getting.

I got a Ronin Flix email about this title. I guess it has been released.

Most likely has a reversible sleeve, so you can choose the one you like best

I watched this last night. The picture quality was surprisingly good in general, I noticed bright colors in several scenes. I had only ever seen this via muddy basic cable broadcasts from 30 odd years ago so I half expected it to look bad regardless of HD remaster.

The movie itself is just as bizarre as I remembered. It seems to get more strange further in, it almost feels like some scenes are missing which would more clearly explain how things get from A to B. There are some surprisingly good and earnest performances in this, to counterbalance some of the corny stuff.

In one of the bonus interviews, actress Emma Sutton says that several times the director told her that he wasn't sure how to handle something and so she came up with an idea that they used - she got a writing credit on the movie even though she says she's no writer. So anyway, it sorta sounds like this was being written as it was being filmed.

I still like this movie, but it isn't really one I would try to push on others because it's a really easy target for ridicule if you're not in the right frame of mind.

Pretty much how I felt, or at least somewhat. The Blu-ray looks great, but man what a strange movie. It has it's moments, but it's really choppy and plots start up and never really finish. It really is all over the place. Still, a pretty good Sean Connery performance. The main character needed a better wig though.

I saw that the director Stephen Weeks hasn't made another film since the year this came out, 1984. He had another movie that year, The Bengal Lancers! with Michael York and Christopher Lee, which apparently was the target of a criminal scheme and was shut down after 10 days of filming, so that might have something to do with it.

Just got this today. Man, Ronin is fast! I just ordered it a couple of days ago. Anyway, always happy to add another Connery Blu Ray. Just 3 to go for the 80's - Five Days One Summer, Wrong Is Right and Family Business.

About this train wreck of a movie. Fun watch if you like to see how bad a movie can get. I could not stop laughing at some of the gaffes, the worst of which is below:

Anybody see the mic?
