High School DxD: Hero (season 4)

ok, sadly I screwed the pooch when it came to the 4th season. Back then I was going through some health problems and completely forgot about ordering it during the covid heyday only to find out a couple years back that for some reason the 4th (and only the 4th) season is out of print here in the States and Canada. Meaning unless I want to completely pay multiple hundreds of dollars to complete the set, I'm screwed.

My question is. Are any of the imports out there true region free or Region A??? I'm pretty sure the UK and German release are both Region B locked, but I'm not sure about any others.

It's out of print because of FUNimation rebranding as Crunchyroll, LLC in March 2022, so every release with the FUNimation logo on it should be assumed as OOP, especially anything that came with a FUNimation Digital Copy as FUNimation's website shut down in April 2024, so none of the codes work anymore.

interesting. I completely forgot about that. I wonder if they're going to reprint them under their new label sometime. Annoying when you're missing ONE season to complete a set.

Good chance that they re-release the series under Crunchyroll given its popularity and how well it sold (LEs sold out very quickly after release), but who knows when. Since the June 2022 slate, they've re-released/are about to re-release the following.

hoping they re-release some of the classics (or put it on blu-ray) like "Love Hina" as my ancient 1990s era set is a bit beaten up over the years

As for Love Hina, it looks HORRIBLE (well, part of it) on Blu-ray because King Records (presumably) sent it to Q-TEC to turn into an oil painting. Screenshots from [redacted].

FUNimation's license to Love Hina seems to have expired years ago (DVDs OOP, and I don't think they ever got streaming rights), so it should be up for grabs, but not looking likely. Discotek Media rescued Love Hina Again in 2020, but now the release is listed OOP and they never got anything else, which is a sign they unfortunately won't pursue the rest. Maybe AnimEigo could come in and save the day?

yeah, I'm surprised CR didn't simply just change the logo on the boxset and cover art printing machines and just kept going.
