Looks great! I never got around to checking the first one out.
Edit: The Royal Edition of the first with all the DLC is on sale for $3.99 on both the PS Store and Xbox Store. Tempting, but did some googling and it’s not getting a next gen patch so just 1080p and 30 FPS. I’m almost positive I have at least the base game in one of my PC storefront launchers from weekly Freebies from Epic or monthly from Amazon Prime etc. so I’ll hold off. Have too much to play and can check out the PC version down the road if I get a new gaming PC that can run it. Or if the console version hits Gamepass or PS+ Extra etc. Edit2: Got a chance to check, and yep I have the base game in my Epic Games library on PC from grabbing it when it was free sometime in the past. Good cinematic/game trailer.
I have Kingdom Come Deliverance PS4 playable on PS5, got it for 6.99 on a PSN digital sale. I really like the graphics of the world wilderness. Nicely done and good day/night cycle. I completed enough missions to have full access to the game's world and explore wherever I want, which is fun. You can steal a horse and ride it around the map or just walk. Only thing I don't like is it's only first person view, and the combat is very clunky and tough to deal with at times. I've defeated enemies, but hopefully it's better in the sequel. I'll wait to hear news about the game. If it offered a 3rd person view, I'd be a lot more interested. |

KCD2 has fallen out of the projected 2024 release window, now officially February 11 2025. Warhorse Studios also advised they would be showcasing more information on the game at Gamescom (just a few more days from now).

From my understanding, KCD1 released in a very technically unpolished state, so you're probably on the money here. Delays like this are a good thing.

This seems like a good team who care about a quality, finished game when released. |

![]() ![]() For those interested in KCD2, just wanted to pass along that Walmart now has an exlusive steelbook edition and it looks pretty nice ![]() Additionally, lots of folks had more hands on in the last few days with a preview build and pretty much all the feedback I've heard was that it was great. |

A very realistic game world. This will be an improvement from PS4 to PS5 designed this time. Looks like a nice game for the game world.
The whole fighting mechanics of the first, I'm not quite the fan of that steep learning curve. I defeated some enemies, but 2 or more, and it's best to just run if you can. |

No use re-inventing the wheel, as it looks like they re-used the same character models and backgrounds as in the first game, but likely more detail and higher resolution and textures added.
I think this is the same map location. The original map was plentiful, so no complaints there. Interested in hearing if it's in fact the same map. It took an hour or two to finally get through the initial missions to have the freedom to explore the full map. I remember near the woods edge, there was on the right, a little path to a memorial or grave, and I was met with a wandering gang of killers in the forest in the 1st game. Another time, I was exploring the forest and ended up finding a camp of warriors who attacked me. I wonder what the improvements to combat will be? |

Thanks for those videos. Good to hear they've addressed the clunky combat of the first and looking to improve it in some ways.
--------------- Watching those videos, I know why I prefer 3rd person views now over 1st person. Especially for tight combat and enemies surrounding the player. Peripheral vision is not possible in 1st person with a 2D camera. Plus no ability to quickly turn your head while looking with the eyes to the right, which expands one's view range in a split second. In 1st person if not with a fisheye wider view, the combat view seems somewhat claustrophobic, closed in. On the side's of one's view, there is no square box hard line edge, but it fades into nothing gradually. But in 3rd person view, which I wish this game offered (and every 1st person combat themed game outside of guns), you are able to have a much more natural wider view of everyone around you if the camera is from the waist up or further back to reveal the full 3rd person player. Otherwise, it's like wearing a restrictive view full faced mask, like some of those medieval helmets with just a narrow view of things to protect the eyes and face, but compromising the knight's view of his enemies. In that way, it would make sense in 1st person if wearing a knight's helmet and visor. Other option that should be in all 1st person games? Allow for the depth of field camera option on a slider, so you can make it closer to a fisheye view, which would automatically expand the player's view surroundings. Mostly meant for developers who might be reading this. |
