Online dating sites are sort of like nursing homes. They are places where men like me go to die.

It's a slow death, by way of unanswered messages and empty inboxes.

I've had better results with Tinder, because I cannot send messages to women on that app without matching with them first, and, as such, I know that I'm not wasting time sending a message to someone who is totally disinterested or, worse, no longer active on a website. Dates from Tinder are still few and far between, but the success ratio is considerably more favorable because I'm not wasting time writing carefully thought-out messages unless a connection has already been established.

It's always better to ask a woman out face-to-face instead of using an app or an online dating site, of course, so time spent on a dating site would be better spent out in the world meeting people.

At 43, most women have had a taste of douche bag bad boys. Just be yourself, if you are genuinely a nice guy. Treat women with respect, and everything else falls into place. Up until about the age 35, women are still in the shallow stage of "I can get any man, why would I want you". Past that age, they get more and more desperate. A woman in her 40s should be easy to get.

A nice gesture, but one needs "real-life" friends they hang out with in the real world on a regular basis in order to have them play matchmaker. Outside of work and family gatherings, I rarely leave my apartment for anything other than shopping and going to the movies.

Not that easy, women at that age are scarred from years of bad relationships etc, be careful or you could find yourself in a nightmarish situation or a woman who is just using you.

I found myself single a few years back and waded into the dating pool for the first time in about 20 years, it was much different, women are very wary with years of relationship wear and tear... my now new bride, I took my time with her and we are trying to have children now, things do work out, though as we started dating and after a horrid experience with a total psycho woman, I was at the end of my rope.

But if you havent been on a date and you are 43, you are going to be pretty awkward on dates, hopefully you can just meet a woman you have a connection to and have something blossom out of a friendship, as long as you are not put into the friend zone first. I think I am a shy person, but I have been on plenty of dates in my life and done all sorts of wild shit when I was younger in college.

MJ, why have you never been on a date in your entire life? I am huge insecurity issues so I can understand. I've been on very few dates in the last 10+ years. I'm assuming it has to do with security issues as well.
