Anyone else excited to get this on Blu-ray? I simply can't wait for this one.

I'm really excited about it mainly because watching There Will Be Blood has me on a DD-Lewis kick!

Amazing movie my friend. In all honesty, There Will Be Blood is one of the best movies that I've seen in a long, long time. Hell, I'm probably going to see it again this week. Much like I said in an earlier thread, if he doesn't get the Oscar nod for this one, then there's something very wrong in this world.

In my eyes, this is one of those performances that is unforgettable. I can't picture another person as Daniel Plainview. He is Daniel Plainview. Can't say enough about it.

Back on point, really looking forward to Gangs of New York. The butcher in Blu-ray? Yes! Yes! I hope it's an excellent transfer.

Yeah one of my favourite movies. I'm holding off on the Euro "Entertainment in Video" release in the hope that Miramax make a really high Region-Free encode.

This is one of those movies that I think it's a great movie, but I'm not sure if I like it. Everything about the movie was top notch, it's just not a movie I could watch very often, because of how haunting it is. The scene where Plainview is getting baptised actually made me think about my heathen ways, lol. But I'm sure, like "No Country For Old Men" and "Pan's Labyrinth" I'll end up a few weeks from now wanting to see it again only to have it not in theaters and I'll be anxious for the home video (dare I say Blu?) release.

Gangs of New York would be probably one of the 5 movies I want to see most on Blu. That opening scene would be awesome. Something about snow in high definition makes me happy.

I already have it. Came out a while a go in UK. Great PQ, Id say 4/5.

I was gonna get this version but heard that PQ was poor. Was the PQ that good.

Seriously, u guys are talking like its been announced, that like me saying, "I can't wait for LOTR, its gonna be a great transfer, its gonna look great on my collection"

I was looking down the comments and thank god someone mentioned this because its not coming to the US till theres an announcement

I don't think the PQ is poor. It isn't reference quality, there's some flat scenes, some grainy moments, but theres usually a lot of detail in most and some of the outdoor scenes are excellent. I own quite a few movies that are way worse in PQ.

You may want to wait for the US release and see if they re-do it, but I'm definitely happy with my UK copy.

gangs of new york is better than twbb....by a lot...and i liked twbb a great deal

gangs was just sensational in every aspect tho

Pretty sure it's coded Region B. It's released by EIV who have coded all of their releases.

It is region coded. See here.

But there are some by EIV that are not, check the link
