Same. The only title in the set that I'm remotely interested in.

Agreed. I don't have much interest in the Columbia Classics sets. But so many great titles get locked into them.

With Capelight recently releasing When Harry Met Sally on 4K UHD, we now just need Warner to release You've Got Mail on 4K UHD to complete the Meg Ryan/Nora Ephron trilogy on 4K UHD

Here's a YoutTube video posted by The Washington Post a week ago about "How three Nora Ephron rom-coms stand the test of time" with Kristin Marguerite Doidge, author of Nora Ephron: A Biography:

Great news. I was wondering if we would get a 4K release. My wife and I love this movie. I don’t mind the boxed set as I have the others and this looks like one of the best. If I’m not mistaken, this, Starman, Kramer vs Kramer, and Punch Drunk Love were all on Sony’s survey back in 2019 for the 2020 set (or could have been the second survey).

Not a very promising site review. Enjoyed this in the theater as a kid. Grew up mostly before daily Internet was a thing and so I watched a ton of movies back then, wayyy more than I do now. I'd probably consider it an instant classic for the genre and I'd imagine it's probably remained a strong seller on dvd. Some movies are just like that; for example, the run of Pauly Shore movies in the 90s were staples at around five bucks in bins and even the main shelves of big box stores for years but may be low demand on blu/uhd.

I watched the 4K a few nights ago and thought it looked great! I don't really agree with the site review, personally. To each their own.

I took some screenshots of the remastered blu in the CC vol4 set and shared them here: https://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.p...&postcount=180

It will help give people an idea of the color timing and tweaks made against the existing releases. As always, screenshots don't tell the entire story.

Timecodes are roughly aligned with the existing caps on caps-a-holic, so people can compare.

My CCV4 should arrive tomorrow or Saturday. Sleepless in Seattle will be the first to be watched. The site review is quite interesting because it makes me recall thinking that it was always quite dim theatrically and on laserdisc. I always assumed it was because of the overcast Seattle weather and perhaps also somehow indicative of Sam's grief. Excited to revisit this and maybe smash through all the others in the set over the weekend.

I agree. I don't have the set either (yet), but when reading the review and how dark it was, I was thinking it is probably more accurate. The movie always seemed a little dark. There are only a few daylight outdoor scenes and the primary one being them out in their boat. Either way, I will own this set (waiting for a price drop) and this WILL be the first one out of the gate (though it will be a close call. Lots of good stuff in this set).

Incredibly dumb review imo. I can’t believe they slammed this video quality I thought it was fantastic while I was watching it last night. Very authentic film transfer from this 90s classic

Yeah, ridiculous that an accurate, even if darker image, scanned from the original negative here, is somehow an issue for a reviewer, while the same person may end up praising True Lies or Aliens when those go up, time will tell! This is exactly why our displays (and UHD BD players for that matter) have so many options to tune them, just create a preset for "vivid" image or whatever you want, hell even Dolby Vision has the Cinema (Home) display preset on all LG sets for example, for inaccurate but brighter image. I'm so happy to see that HDR/DV grading of old classics remastered in the past year or two is mostly trending towards lower, more accurate nits, and not artificially boosting anything or adjusting contrast to please some theoretical blu-ray.com reviewer or ignorant fan, lol.

iTunes and other digital stores still don’t have this in 4K Dolby Vision which I find incredibly odd.

The other films in the Columbia Classics collection have been upgraded to the new master.

It will be a shame if a bunch of these Sony discs are locked into the sets forever, Sony does the best restoration work of any major studio

I don’t see any reason not to default to Filmmaker Mode.

It only has a DCP on Park Circus for theatrical bookings, not a 4K one.
