New Line wouldn't let that happen, between IT and the Conjuring movies their horror lineup is pretty much as strong.

Blumhouse has a first-look deal with Universal so the chances of that are unlikely but I wouldn't rule it out. Miramax still co-produced the new Halloween.

These days I just assume every movie ever made is in some stage of being remade or rebooted. Hollywood will beat a dead horse even after it's bones have turned to dust.

I agree, this franchise has had it! the last remake was an utter disaster and Jackie while a good actor even as Rorshach i thought was pathetic as Freddy even with that laughable Christian Bale Batman voice, Robert IS the ONE and ONLY Freddy Krueger just as much as Angus Scrimm IS the Tall Man and Bruce Campbell IS Ash Williams! even Englund said so himself.

I mean this is my favorite horror franchise with my faves being 1, 3 and 4 as i did enjoyed 6 and New Nightmare and Freddy vs Jason had it's moments mostly for Englund's performance and 5 was an utter disappointment while the remake was total shit that lacks things for my entertainment needs and enjoyment.

This franchise needs to die already on the big screen and bring it back only in merchandise, comics and novels, i mean it's time to let Freddy rest in peace already as he earned his retirement and bringing him back is just gonna hurt his legacy.

I knew that mediocre Halloween film (while not as horrible as The Predator) was gonna make studios think this way and it's sad and disappointing that Halloween 2018 was a big hit as i don't get it. I mean they will be like "oh audiences want more Michael i guess they want more Jason, more Freddy, more Candyman etc.".

Knew this was coming after the success of the amazing Halloween 2018, but yeah no one can replace Robert as Freddy.

let a dead franchise rest in peace. They should take inspiration from games lik dead by daylight or outlast and create a movie revolving those monsters.

I wouldn't mind a 'Springwood slasher' origin story showing Freddy's backstory as a child killer; the whole concept of just that character is fascinating enough.

If they are going for CGI spectacle, please let it be used to create nightmarish dreamscapes instead of burn makeup that pratical effects and actual makeup can do.

Oh, and if Halloween had Jamie Lee Curtis return, I vote for Roseanne Barr to return!
