so it looks like no advanced audio over analogue. Will they offer an update to allow the new audio over analogue? Any info on an update for this?

Huh, all the advanced audio for movies are Digital not analogue. No DVD movie suports analog sound, Blu-ray is no diffrent, It's the player that decodes the 6 channel digial PCM outputs to 6ch audio to your reciever.

Your better off hooking it up via coaxil or optical to a 5.1 Home Theatre. But if you want uncompressed audio you either output PCM via HDMI, decode it to 6ch analogue, or PCM over coaxil.
