just checked crutchfield.com to look at the specs...looks like you're a no go on optical cable...meaning, youre no go on 5.1 surround.

...return it. FAST.

I can't seem to find any pictures of the back of this unit. Is there a separate receiver or is everything part of the DVD player?

Well...I think the best way to go about it would be to buy an HDMI receiver with speakers already included.

But if that is out of your price range, then yes, just get a sound system that has an Optical Input.

Follow Crack's advice... He is THE source here for this stuff... If it was someone with an online store I would have looked at a few things and made suggestions... in the end, as long as there is an optical you'll be ok. The Onkyo 908 will also give you access to lossless audio. let us know if you have any other questions.

Just saw his advice, i guess i missed it somehow, I will follow his advice and see how it goes, But yeah, that is a little out of my price range, something more like $500~ that i can get?

Also what should i look for in a receiver exactly? 2 inputs and 1 output? http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...89BG7P82B6AEWV
something like that could work ?
