Edge Enhancement? - Blu-ray Forum

Anyone care to explain?

I liked the look of it on HIGH, yet i see multiple complaints about it. Whats everyone hate about the thing? Is there an improvement on the overall PQ if i shut if off?

Just wondering...

If you don't understand what it is and don't know what you are looking for, then don't read up on it. As soon as you know what you are looking at, edge enhancement will bug you. Sometimes it is better to be oblivious.

Anyway. I see what it does now. That article seems to point to a decrease of PQ for sharper edges.
Still though, while i was playing Tekken i was messing with the settings i the Edge Enhancement and thought it looked much better with it on high... Ill have to check that again and pay attention to the PQ rather then the surroundings of the characters when i do. The only reaso i even know that it exists is that i simply crossed it while trying to get my TV out of a phase its going through where it desides to zoom z in about a cm (which i still cant seem to fix. Oh well). So that takes up how "Oblivious

Il go shut edge enhancement off right now. Thanks for the help guys.
