Default How do you all "hide" your cords?

Im very picky with that kinda stuff... and right now I have one of those home theatre stands that you can see right through... and no matter how well I twist tie them, zap strap em... you can still see my cords at the back... Im curious what you all do to "hide" them... and hiding them in my wall isnt an option

Cheers in advance!

you could get some wire loom and tuck all the wires in it. Similar to what you see under the hood of your car for wiring. You can buy wire loom in different colors, including white.
http://www.wirelm.com/

Never used the site, but that's the stuff I'm talking about.

Not a bad idea.... Ive seen the bigger wire loom type things before... that were actually meant for keep cords all together so that it looks somewhat cleaner at the back... any idea where I can get those?

If you're not comfortable ordering online, you can try your local auto parts store, Big Box Home retailer, or local car stereo shop...

Wire loom is:
cheap
looks good
keeps things neat and tidy
comes in all colors and sizes

wire loom is NOT:
fireproof
waterproof
reduce electric noise device

I have used the crap out of this stuff for many years now. from automotive to marine use, in my garage. for my computer I hate all those cords all over the place.

That wire loom stuff looks neat. Thanks for sharing! I seriously need something like that to clean up the mess behind my stand.

Here is a closeup of my components...

My power strip is hidden behind the subwoofer with seven items plugged in, not including the cable from the satellite antenna. And you can probably also tell that the majority of the cords are hidden from view behind the A/V receiver and the satellite receiver.

Well you're lucky, you can do that!

Also I'm wondering how to hide speaker wires for the side speakers if the speakers are not near a wall. I am planning my new home theater in the basement and one of the side speaker is gonna be on it's own. I guess I could try to pull it under the carpet (if I keep the carpet). Post pics if you can!

I run the speaker wires through the stands, then behind the couch on one side, under under the trim on the picture window on the other.... works well.

I don't know if you can still buy them, but at home stores, they sell/sold plastic tubes with a split in them. They are designed to cover shower rods with whatever color you are looking for.

They are really easy to cut and you can fit the cables through the split. It basically ends up looking like an extra leg on your stand. If youcenter it. It looks fine.

I have a few that I have had for 10 years probably.

I stuff them under and behind the tv stand!

i know I suck at that. I am just lazy. I did buy ties for them but only used a few of them.
I think in my next house I will do something more like hide them behind the wall or use those plastic tubes you guys are talking about.

I understand you! I bought wire loom a couple of weeks ago for my current setup (for the cables behind my TV as the other surround speaker cables are in wall), and now I've got to find the time (and the patience) to sort the mess. Maybe when I'll do it, I'll post the before/after pics!

For my next setup, I will organize it as I install it!

Like Cable-less cables????? Wireless-Wires???? that's like Audio-less Speakers. Nobody has been able to develop a feasible wireless speaker system.... bose has some sort of "relay" but there is no true wireless system available.... I'd spend a small fortune on it if it were available, but alas....it's not.

The wife keeps house shopping, so hopefully I will be doing a room tear-down/re-build since I'm holding off on doing that to our current house.
