WEll, i got a PS3 a year ago and my dad ordered Blu-Ray movies (i have them already) but he said the PS3 doesn't support DTS HD ___ so i tried to convince him to forget a blu-ray player and use the PS3 (he doesn't seem to be impresed with the ps3) but he kept talking about DTS bla bla bla. THen today, i found out that the ps3 was about to have DTS HD sound update.
So, my question is this: Does cancelling an order cause the person to still pay for the shipping (say, it was already on its way)? |

I don't understand what the babble before your question meant, but in many cases, if a shipment is refused - you are not charged. It depends on where you ordered from. Don't open it - send it back.

You have to ask (or find out) from the company you bought it from. Companies have different policies.
Eventually PS3 was going to get DTSMA support. |

If it is shipped, you can not cancel it. If it is about to ship, you might have to call them to cancel it. If it has not yet shipped, you can cancel. If you already have it, or it is shipped, call them and arrange a return/exchange.
I am sure they have a lot of confused customers over the format war. Being new here, you should have browsed our site more. You'd see that we've been expecting it to add DTS-HD MA (dts hi def master audio) for many months now. The PS3 already decodes TrueHD in a similar manner. Good luck. |

I think the OP is saying his dad ordered a Blu-ray player because he wanted DTS HDMA and the PS3 wouldn't support it. Now that the PS3 is getting the patch, the OP wants to cancel the order on the standalone player.
If it's shipped, its too late to "cancel" the order. You'll probably have to return the item at the expense of shipping fees both ways, and potentially a 15-20% restock fee. Or, keep the player and put it in another room ![]() |
