Default IR Signal Help

My TV's IR is blocked by my entertainment center. Would something like this work with my HDTV?

http://www.pcconnection.com/IPA/Shop...ci_sku=6354416

Any help is appreciated. Having to put the remote above my head to switch the input when I am reclined is very annoying.

That looks like it's made to work with a remote with a builtin mini jack, or via some sort of direct connection to an IR transmitter. I would say that's only part of what you'll probably need and won't work unless your remote has a mini jack for connecting a hard wired IR emitter.

Hoorah for Blutooth!

have you tried to place a small mirrow inside the entertainment stand? how "blocked" are we talking???? Mine is mostly blocked (because I use a separate rack off the side, and I don't even have to point in the right direction usually for it to work. (for Dish Network/SACD/CD/DVD at least)

Damn. I wanted to avoid the big, ugly alternatives.

My stand is set up so the TV raises and lowers in the back of it. Because of this it sits very high off the ground and when I sit reclined I am lower then the eye by about a foot. I could probably put a mirror on the wall and bounce it off but I was hoping for an alternative.

Did some searching and found the following soultion. It's expensive, but sounds nice if it will work with your model remote. Sound like all the components can be hidden.

Not sure if I want to add a "spaceship" to my home theater.

Harmony has a better signal then the DirecTv remote. Works like a charm now.

A small mirror seems to be an elegant solution. Should keep this in mind.
