Default Problem playing BD with PowerDVD

Has anyone have a problem playing certain movies with PowerDVD Ultra 7.3.3516 (latest patch) and know how to fix it? I have flickering green screen every 2 seconds. The movies in questions are Vacancy, Identity and Lost Season 3.

They play perfectly with WinDVD BD for VAIO. I know my video card (GeForce Go 7400) is not officially supported by both software but I don't think my video card is the problem, otherwise WinDVD won't be able to play the movie either.

Sony SZ381P
Core 2 Duo 2.33 GHz
GeForce Go 7400
3GB RAM
13.3" (1280x800 resolution)
Matshita UJ-110 DVD drive

I have trouble with Power DVD also. Won't play Spiderman 3. I emailed the company and they told me to buy their $100 upgrade. Considering how long it took to get that response, I'm not sure that I want to take that kind of risk.

3:10 to Yuma is the third BD that I've had trouble with on Powerdvd.
I have OEM Version 7.3, and with this movie, powerdvd runs through all of the previews (I can even skip through them), but when it then goes to the main menu, it allows no interaction with the menu whatsoever -- not even via the arrow keys or enter key on my keyboard. None of the context menu options function (they are "prohibited"), except for "stop". It took cyberlink 6 days to respond to my last email to them about Resident Evil Extinction, and their response was worthless. I emailed them about this new problem, but don't have my hopes up.
Any ideas?

Spidey's didn't work for like the first week they were out. Should work fine now. I haven't run into a problem with PowerDVD since. Although, since getting another BD player and HDTV for the bedroom, I use it a lot less.

It was posted on another thread that cyberlink is aware this title is not playable and is working on a patch to fix it.

I was having audio issues with cyberlink and after a uninstall/reinstall it was working properly

Smile Power dvd

I have recently purchased the LG GGW-H20L BLU-RAY/ HD DVD BURNER PLAYER & AM HAVING THE SAME TROUBLE AS YOU WITH THE PLAYING OF BLU-RAY TITLES. Power dvd will play HD DVD titles from the start, but Blu-Ray will only play the trailers or previews pryor to the "play movie" screen & as with your experience will not allow anything on that screen to function. As far as I am able to determine I believe CYBERLINK is requireing the purchase of their "Ultra" addition of this software to bring this problem to a satisfactory conclusion.
If this is the case I am one that will not play into their game of deciet, & will purchase a software program from another. I do believe the software sent with this player should function with this player, & will let LG know of my dissatisfaction with such marketing practice.

The latest patch for PowerDVD that comes with your LG drive is the same with the retail version of PowerDVD. You don't need to buy the retail version to get the latest patch. When you run PowerDVD, right click on the screen, click Configure and click on Configure button at the lower left hand corner. The latest patch is 3516.

^ Right click doesn't work for me. >.<

Has anyone tried Superbad? It always freezes on "loading.." screen for me...

EDIT - Nevermind, I had the crappy version which came with Dell. Just bought Ultra, and it works great (+ lots more features)...

I use PowerDVD Ultra, with Cyberlink's rather large patch. No problems with either BD or HD-DVD, using an LG Blu-ray/HD-DVD internal drive. Every video I've tried so far has played perfectly. I did do a firmware upgrade on the drive, though.

Are you using Vista or XP? Which video card are you using? Have you tried movies encoded with MPEG4-AVC? PowerDVD seems to have problem with movies encoded with MPEG4-AVC. VC1 and MPEG2 seem to be OK, though.

You obviously haven't tried 3:10 to Yuma yet.

3:10 to Yuma exhibited the same problems for me on my PDVD 7 OEM copy. I thought it was my software, but no combination of software seemed to help.

As has been alluded to above, Cyberlink still hasn't released a patch that allows 3:10 to Yuma to play on powerdvd yet, and I (amongst who knows how many others) emailed them on the movie's release date (January 8th) concerning this matter.

They did however provide the following response on th 15th.....7 days after I emailed them (which was one day less of a response time than the last time I emailed them):

"Since the newly released BD discs come with unique format specifications, we will release patch files for PowerDVD to resolve those known issues accordingly.

We have forwarded your comments regarding those BD titles to our engineering department for further investigation, and will get back to you as soon as we receive any updates."

I also had a problem with PowerDVD OEM I got with my ASUS Blu-ray Drive, it didn't allow hardware acceleration, didn't play normal DVDs, and all the MPEG-2 components of the film, didn't play - I just got cubes of random colour. First I thought my computer wasn't Blu ray ready ( the beginning was MPEG-2), but when the VC-1 parts played fine, I contacted Cyberlink support, and after something llike 4 or 5 emails, I got a new patch, which fixed up everything.

Unhappy Pulling my Hair Out

Ok guys I need lots of help....I installed the LG GGW-H20L internal drive in my HTPC on the weekend. Since then nothing but grief, I rented the Live free or die hard BD. Had the popcorn in one hand and a beer in the other.
Got through the previews soon as the main attraction starts I get a blank screen I did have sound though it seemed like is was probably the main menu screen. I ran to the store and purchased a HD-DVD (Chronicals of Riddick) Put it in and no problem my night was some what salvaged. I uninstalled put the oem back on and updated as per the pop up box when installing. Customer service told me to update to 3516 so I put that ontop of 33?? I think it was. Is it just that one BD movie or do I need to do something else. I will rent the BD Jesse James tomorrow to see if it works.
Any Help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks Jerry

The problem is likely related to bd+ encryption on the disk. The first BD that I ever had trouble with was the original Die Hard...which probably has the same version of encryption as Live Free or Die Hard. At the time, I didn't realize that with some BDs, even though you can't interact with the disk with your mouse in Powerdvd, you can still use your arrow and enter keys on your keyboard to navigate through the menus. So, it may be that you would be able to do that with Live Free or Die Hard....with whatever Cyberlink's latest patch is. Otherwise, you'll have to wait until Cyberlink/Powerdvd offers a patch that actually helps.

Can anyone else here shed some more light......?
