Default Best Hd signal for my HDTV

I'm trying to figure out if i should go the cable or satellite route. Or if there is a possibility that theres something even BETTER than the both. Which one will i get the best picture out of? If it matter i will be watching HD on a new pansonic viera pz800u. Any advice is much appreciated.
