Default Where is the cheapest place to buy a HDTV?

I am currently using a SD tv right now but its old and I need a HDTV. So I would like to know where the cheapest HDTVs are. I want a 20-28", reliable TV. My room is pretty small.

Thanks.

you might as well search for 32 inch...as the price won't be that much different...you can get 32 inch lcd for around 500 - 700 if you search for deals... like techbargains (dot) com...brand name will cost you more...goodluck on your hunt...

I looked there already. The prices were decent.

But im also at a fork-in-the-road here. You see, my brother plans on moving out this year and when he does I get his room, which is about 3X bigger than mine. So I dont know if I should get one now and upgrade later, or wait till I get his room and get a bigger/better one. I should also have a job by the time he moves so I could get it quicker. Im only 14 so I have a VERY low paying job.

Thanks for the responses.

What's your price range?

You get what you pay for.

Default My recommendation for a 32" LCD TV

Hello there Kakashi,
For $879 (have to click on the cart to see this price, retails for $1099) you can get this top rated (LAST YEAR'S model of this set is currently ranked #4 of the top LCD TVs of 2008 on CNet... to see that link >>> http://reviews.cnet.com/best-hdtvs/) Samsung 32" LCD TV. Here is the link for the set at a HIGHLY REPUTABLE VENDOR...

http://www.buydig.com/shop/product.aspx?sku=SAMLN32A550

This set is outstanding with true 1080P resolution, 3 HDMI connectors (all 1080P capable), 2 Component Video connectors (which unlike many TVs, these are ALSO 1080P capable inputs!).

Buydig (short for Buy Digital) is an outstanding seller of products, I have purchased 2 TVs from them so far and they have been top notch each time. My newest purchase was the bigger cousin of the one im referring above, that being the Samsung LN37A550 - 37" high-definition 1080p LCD TV for the wife and I bedroom . I absolutely LOVE this new set we just got in, and I am sure you would enjoy that 32" unit, especially at that price...for what I would consider a "top of the line" 32" model.

Just my 2 cents!
P.S.- Did I mention that shipping is FREE and there is NO TAX on BuyDig as well !

No problem, just saw the thread and figured since that place has treated me so well, I should "share" the hidden gem of that site with others . That 37" set we purchased we opted for the "free shipping" of course (there are other means they will offer to ship that are "faster", but do not go that route, as we ordered ours and had it SHIPPED OUT from their warehouse the SAME DAY via the "free shipping" method, so its really great !).

I just looked at it and it looks AMAZING! But do you know how long this price will stay?

Hi again,
I would think the price would be good for awhile, but you never know on the internet sites because they are constantly striving to be one of the lowest available so you will purchase from them over others. With my 37" purchase I mentioned above I got really lucky, as it dropped from $1095 to $1039, then $1034, then one last drop to $1029 before I "bit" on it. Now I checked when I linked that 32" one to you above and it shows my set at $1095 again...and that is in the span of 9 days ! So you may get lucky if you held out a couple days, or it could climb depending on their on-line competition pricing from what I have seen.

Ok thanks! I guess I'll think it over for a day or so. Thank you for your help!

Also I should note that Samsung I linked for you has a 5ms response time and 15,000:1 contrast ratio, which is better than the Sharp "Aquos" unit of the same size (that unit has 6ms response time and 10,000:1 contrast ratio). That is another reason I chose Samsung over the highly rated Sharp unit, and of course it was $370 less than the Sharp when I got my Samsung at $1029 .

Heres a good tip for you since you're only 14. Save your money. Why do you NEED a hdtv? Wanting and needing are two completely different things. When i was 15-16 I kept gettin useless things that i wouldn't even be able to tell you where they are now. Save your money, when you're inbetween the ages of 18-21 you'll be VERY happy that you did.

I appreciate your suggestions but im still going to get it. I have been saving up for a car and car insurance since I was 10, im not stupid I know how to manage my money wisely. I also work for my money so when I buy something this expensive, I make sure its the best thing for me.
