Default Shadow of the Vampire

Hello from Venezuela:

I really would like to see Shadow of the Vampire, for the reason that it is an exceptional film, especially for the Udo Kier role, beside the great screenplay and magnificent expressionist environment, but I write to LionsGate and nothing, in fact I think even deserves a DigiBook Edition, t highly recommend you all to watch it.

If anyone could help, I would appreciate it.

This has been sitting on my Netflix list for years. Just couldn't bring myself to watch it on DVD, when there are so many BD's I need to get to. They really need to give this a proper BD release.

Resurrecting a super old thread, but I'd also pick up a BD copy. The dvd looks good sometimes, but smothered in dnr places.

It's nice that there's a nice DTS track on the disc.

It's out in Germany. I might import it. Universal owns domestic distribution rights.

Does anybody know whether the German blu-ray is any good? I'm assuming it would have the option of watching the movie in English without German subtitles?

I might have to import it too (I live in Australia). Shadow of the Vampire is probably my favourite gothic movie!

If anyone else from the US imports it, it's kinda fun to watch. The German BD has some deleted scenes added back in. One is pretty funny. A neat find!

Just got my copy this week, look forward to watching it again. Cool premise for a movie, this deserves a better release - maybe Shout Select, or Arrow Video. Hopefully we'll see more films directed by E. Elias Merhige!

https://dvdstorespain.es/es/pelicula...558199576.html

New edition, details are scarce but it appears to be from Studio "Research" out of Spain? Its cover looks near-identical to a previous DVD edition. It also shows it's Region-Free.

I ordered this a couple of weeks ago when it started returning from my saved eBay search- I've been previously chasing the rare German Blu-Ray without success, since the movie is not available to stream here in Australia.

Tracking shows it's still in transit, will update when it arrives!

I'd also be keen to hear comparisons with the German edition, since User Reviews suggested that might have used the DVD Master for the transfer.

Discussed further here- https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?p=22801725
