Default Miller & Kreisel AKA M&K Back in Business

I haven't heard (read) any one talking about M&K being back in business, there being distributed by the dolphin group here in the US www.thedolphingroup.org they got a 2009 line up for products too. I say sweet, I used to have the 750thx 5.1 system and loved it and was bummed when they went out of business.

They have back in back in business for a while but I think they just recently started a US distribution channel. It is a new company though, Ken Kreisel has nothing to do with the new company. I believe he is working to start a new company at some point, maybe a pro audio company. Their is a M&K thread on AVS that is good, one former employee posts with advise and Ken posted at least a few times as well.

Great speakers, I have a 5.1 set but currently only using the sub.

Do you know if they're selling stands? I have the 750s but never got the matching stands. I fear I've waited too long.

MK Sound is being run by a group of former M&K employees. The Dolphin Group is heading up US distribution, and as I understand it, the M&K brand never left the market in Asia.

Ken Kreisel does have another project going, but he is not affiliated with M&K any longer. When I e-mailed him about M&K's closure a year or two ago, he wasn't disclosing any information on it yet.

I'm glad to see MK Sound is progressing along, because their subwoofers and speaker packages were fantastic. From what I've seen so far, the current product offering is limited compared to the expansive selection they had in the past. I'd be surprised if speaker stands were being offered anymore.

I love my two M&K subs, and I won't part with them willingly. Hopefully, MK Sound will continue progressing and become a mainstream higher end speaker company again

I've tried their sales link and none of the pages will open for me to see what they offer. I'll cross my fingers for now but i'd love to trash the bookshelves I have them on now. (pictures of setup in gallery). Also I would love to get two more surrounds for 7.1 as I purchased mine when there was only 5.1 and they still rock the house today!

Try this link to see current models MK Sound is supporting:

http://www.mksoundsystem.com/

It's mostly package surround systems, and separate in-wall speakers. It doesn't appear they're offering their speakers outside of packaged deals yet. They'll probably sell them separately on request though.

Yeah I remember their stuff. I own it. I checked the brochure and none of the images loaded just the text. I don't have much hope for buying anything new. Looks like The Dolphin Group doesn't exactly have their stuff together.

What luck. I found them on Google shopping. It opens the individual speakers without going through ABT's links from their MK Sound page. Like this link to surround speakers I own. The column on the right will let you navigate to the other speakers, whoo hoo! Unfortunately it doesn't seem they offer the matching stands anymore. http://www.abt.com/product/36205/MK-Sound-SUR55T.html

Here's a good link to the M&K Speakers that are available:

http://www.abt.com/search/search.php?keywords=MK+Sound

I may have to pick up another subwoofer. They carry the MX-250 and MX-350 subwoofers, which are 12" dual driver versions of my MX-70B with dual 8" subs. The bass output from those push-pull designs is outstanding, and it's very articulate and musical to boot.

Ken Kreisel is coming back with his own company:

http://www.kkprofessionalsound.com/

It looks like it mostly will be geared to professional studios but hopefully he will branch back out to the consumer market again as well. Not anything against the current MKSound, from what I understand the speakers are pretty good as well

Nice, can't wait to see what he will have for us. Reading the time line was cool, seeing all that he has done for A/V.

Hey, one of my subwoofers, the MX-70 is listed in the timeline. Actually, mine is version two, the MX-70B. I use it in my 2 channel listening room, and the bass output is incredible for having dual 8" subs.

It's good to see Ken's coming back. He's been working on this for a couple of years now, since M&K reorganized after being sold. I just hope Ken has the financial backing to make a meaningful run at speaker design and production again. Ken and his company did more for home theater speaker design and surround sound mastering than anyone in the industry.

I have the same sub but need to find a replacement driver but I have had no luck. I occasionally find one on eBay but it is the 4ohm version but the push/pull configuration needs an 8ohm. But a great sub
