After divorcing his wife he has decided to sell everything from his life and move on, this includes his house, contents, friends, job, everything.

More power to the guy, hope that it works out for him relocating and starting a new life. I definately wouldn't bid on it if I had the money though.

I tried to get approved for this auction...unfortunately, even though I have a passport, I don't have a valid visa for Australia standing...and apparently, they are hard to get right now...

...bummer....would have been sweet having a backup life incase this one goes rotten on me...

Hmm. What about bank accounts and investments?

His life is his life, not merely the non-liquid assets.

That's pretty crazy. So he's just gonna take the money he earns from basically selling everything he owns and start somewhere new? For the price it's going for it doesn't seem too bad. It says the house is payed off so you don't have a mortgage.
