War of Gods, 300 Follow-Up, Hobbit, Cloverfield 2 and More!
Source: Collider.com June 26, 2008 Collider.com alerted us to more video interviews they've posted that were done at the Saturn Awards on Tuesday evening: Producers Mark Canton, Gianni Nunnari and Bernie Goldman Video Interview They say they have landed director Tarsem Singh ("The Fall," "The Cell") to helm "War of Gods." They say it's another Greek film like "300." They say they're going to use the stuff they learned on "300" to make the film and they said it's going to start filming in the first quarter of next year. For more info on the film... watch the interview. The other bit of news is on "300." They announced they're working on a new Blu-ray edition of the film and they dropped a bomb... they're trying to make a sequel/prequel to 300. At first I didn't believe them, but later in the night I spoke to Zack Snyder again (interview will be posted tomorrow) and he confirmed what they said. He said Frank Miller is working on a new story of some kind and if they all really like it they'll make it! Crazy news....I know! Guillermo del Toro Red Carpet Video Interview He talks a lot about Hobbit and says he'd like to do Hellboy 3 when he finishes the films. So that means he has 18 upcoming projects... Video Interview with Cloverfield Director Matt Reeves Addresses Cloverfield 2 possibilities and talks a lot about his upcoming film The Invisible Woman. |

I absolutely hated Cloverfield, I guess I was one of the ones that "didn't get it".. I watched it, tried to get into it but in the end just couldn't do it. I REALLY liked the 3 minutes of the movie that the monster was actually in. Maybe if they make CF2 as an actual movie movie and not "found footage" I'd care, but as of right now, that one gets a big ..meh

The 'I didn't get it and I have no idea what the movie was about before I went into it' line is over there ---------------> Cloverfield delivered on every promise it gave, and it didn't give many promises. Promises {for those who weren't paying attention} monster movie {possibly} shot from the perspective of the people who were in the city at the time. {shakey cam} The "found footage" is the entire twist to the concept of the horror/monster genre. If you didn't like the fact that it was 'found footage' then you really REALLY didn't get the movie as that was the point. It would be like complaining that there were snakes in 'Snakes on a Plane'. Let's just hope that the Hobbit films aren't 3 and a half hours long each...
![]() I'm not interested in anything to do with the Greeks in movies until they release a movie that tells the ACTUAL story about the Spartans and not some lame cartoonish CGI laden version. After reading The Gates of Fire (highly recommended) they could have made that into a movie and had a much more enthralling story and 20 times higher blood and gore factor, while holding true to what really happened. I personally, taking it for what it was, loved Cloverfield. I understand that it was heavilly flawed, but I actually liked the characters. I think that's the maker or breaker for that movie, since the monster really is just a backdrop to the actual story. |
