Default shredders for BDs?

I have a shredder that can shred CDs and DVDs but it doesn't say anything about BDs. Would BDs go through OK? I don't want to try it and ruin the shredder. Thanks for your help!

(I don't have anything to shred yet, but I just want to have all my bases covered for the future just in case)

PS When the shredders says it can shred DVDs that would include dual layer ones too right?

If it shreds discs then i doubt it would'nt be able to do it to a BD. I'm not up for shredding discs. lol.

Good lord! Why are you even thinking about this??? By the time you are using BD media for private banking backup data, my grandchildren will be in college!!! And I'm only 28 right now with NO MARITAL OR REPRODUCTIVE PROSPECTS EVEN REMOTELY IN SIGHT!

It gives me the willies to even think about a BD being shredded.

Not that I would do it but ... I would just use a hammer and make small pieces out of it.

Makes me wonder if it would still play after going through that what with the protective coating though (Please...someone try :P)

Cath,

Didn't you see the youtube video testing the coating? It survived and played lots of damage (ball point pen, pizza cutter.. SOS pad) but the butcher knife was too much and the disc was dead.

I'll try to find the video.. lots of similar but less interesting copy cat videos came after.

Edit - I think this is it...

Anyway,.. one solution to this would be next time just don't buy the pron Blu Rays in the first place.

-Brian

Hey,

Sort of.. you have to pick up the shreds and turn them over and do the other side.

How about an Adam Sandler movie? Would a shredder shed that? The complete works of Adam Sandler and Rob Schneider? God, I hope so.

I guess you could always just NOT buy those movies. That would solve the problem for you.

If their movies are so bad, how come countless millions of fans support them?

those disc destroyers that poke a ton of little holes in DVDs/CDs should word for BDs too... you would just likely have to run it through a few times to make sure.
