Reign of Fire at Fry's Electronics - Blu-ray Forum

I dropped by Fry's Electronics and saw the buy one get one free offer and Reign of Fire! Since Reign of Fire was not suppose to be out 'til Tuesday, I thought it wasn't gonna ring up at the register. Not only did it ring up at the register, but the price was reduced from $29.99 (sticker price) to $24.99!

I got home and popped it in. This title is very sharp (AVC). There is a very small amount of dirty on the print in places (it's not distracting at all). I would give this title a 4.5 out of 5 for PQ. The audio was great (uncompressed)...of course! The bass was very tight and the voices are crisp and clean. The harpoon cannon sounds amazing! The sound moves through you. I don't have a lot of time so I can't write this little review the way I really should (being really specific).

Overall, if you were interested in this title before, I would definitely recommend it.

Picked it up at a local Wal-Mart yesterday. I know it's not out til tomorrow but I figured I'll get it.

Picture Quality: Excellent. Glad to see Buena Vista is using AVC, not VC-1. VC-1 seems to "soften" the picture, at least what's what I noticed on some of the Blu-Ray movies.

Casanova looked somewhere soft but the picture was overall good. Also got Ladder 49, but haven't tested it yet.

Tomorrow... 'The Departed'... YAY!

I saw 6 copies of this today. The blu-ray isle was literally ransacked, maybe less then 60 movies in total left in the entire rack. HD-DVD section was full, probably over 130+ titles there collecting dust.

Ya, when I was at fry's people were pouring over the BD's I could hardly get in there to get my titles. Not that you metion it I did see Reign of Fire there as well.
