Default Create your own Ultimate Collector's Edition!

Haven't you ever felt frustrated by what studios come up with when they do a so-called Ultimate Collector's Edition? For example, drink coasters or the travel tag in the two different collector's editions of Casablanca? Or the inside lid of a fake box of chocolates for Forrest Gump? Or the scratch-and-sniff pencils and scented eraser for Willy Wonka?

If you are like me, you must have wondered what were they thinking and "I have to spend this much money on a box of rinkydink items I don't want?" And you must have thought how you could do a much better job of putting together an Ultimate Collector's Edition!

Now's your chance to show your creativity. Pick a film on Blu and build a package around it.

Just for fun, I put together a Captain America 70th Anniversary Ultimate Collector's Package (the comic book character debuted in 1941).

Exterior of package:

When you open the lid, here are the contents:

Contents laid out: (top row) Captain America Blu-ray 3D combo set, American flag, reproduction of Captain America's 1940s Sentinels of Liberty membership card and badge, Cinefex 127. (bottom row) repro of Captain America #1, pewter statue of Captain America, repro of Sgt. Fury and His Howling Commandos #13.

Closer view of items:

Front and back of repro membership card

Sentinels of Liberty Badge

Cinefex 127

64-page repro of Captain America #1 (1941)

Pewter statue

32-page repro of Sgt. Fury and His Howling Commandos #13 (1964)

So, let's see what you can come up with!

Sweet. Nice job. I would definitely buy that without hesitation. The only thing that will make it cooler is if it included a steelbook.

One of these days I am going to put my movie soundtracks with my BDs, but I just don't feel like buying a bunch of extra 2 disc cases to do it.

Very cool, though I think this may fit better and stand out more under the collectibles section

I thought about that too. With my briefcase edition of "Inception," I slipped the soundtrack inside of it, but I took it out because I kept forgetting where I put it. I still do have the soundtrack for "Wanted" in its corresponding movie set though.

That Captain America set would be really cool if it was a real product, bluskies. You need to work in marketing and package design for a major studio. The major studios tend to only make these super-deluxe versions for movies they think need the attention to generate enough sales. Most new blockbusters don't need this type of help to sell units.

You can get the disc hubs in amazon, they are pretty cheap. I use them to house the dvd copy when I buy the bluray.

That is pretty neat! Great job!
If I can find some free time, perhaps I'll do a UCE for Escape From New York!!!
OMG, that would be amazing if that was released for an anniversary!

I agree.

I would include a weathered Arnim Zola android blueprint replica.

I'd like an Ultimate Collector's Editon of Terminator 2 that came with a real life working minigun.

A Jurassic Park UCE would be wicked if it came with real dinosaur embryos.
