Default Would you rather have steelbook covers?

Would you rather have steelbook covers for blu rays or the normal packaging?

Ocassional steelbook's are good, they killed the appeal with DVD because they flooded the market with too many. The cool factor is when they are limited to certain releases. A TDK one would be nice, especially if a Best Buy limited edition. Iron Man would make a nice one.

its a yes and no. for the yes because it looks awesome but for the no part it also looks kind of silly standing out when you have a line up of blu-ray titles on a shelf

They are nice, when they contain a special release once in a while. If they are just putting the usual releases in them, i don't care about steelbooks.

Occasionally maybe, but I like the the smaller normal cases, they take up less shelf space

Actually there will be a steelbook edition of Iron Man but it will only be a Canadian Future Shop exclusive.

i like steelbooks but i dont think for every movie and if they were for most movies they should do first week release or something.

I love my transformers steelbook which was from f.y.e. and it has the autobots symbol on the front. It is very cool. I also liked the one for Cloverfield but did not pick it up because I was waiting for it on bluray.

I think they are great but I would only buy them for special movies.

I agree
Dark Knight
Iron Man

would be great steelbook releases.

For BIG blockbuster hits like TDK or Iron Man, I say yes. But keep it limited and select to only massively successful movies.

Doesn't matter to me but I'd rather everything was uniform... look nicer on the shelves.

Steelbooks are just a pathetic marketing gimmick. If they have to make the box shiny to make people buy it, it makes you wonder about the quality of the contents (or lack thereof). There's certainly no no practical reason for them since they dent easily, must cost more to make and more to transport.
