Default Guitar Hero: World Tour to feature exclusive PS3 content

http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/54762

Quote:
The MIDI sequencer functionality encompasses rhythm guitar, lead guitar, bass, keyboards and drum tracks on the PlayStation 3, but will be limited to drum tracks on the Xbox 360 due to unspecified "hardware issues." The feature will arrive as part of a week-one patch for the game, which hits October 26.
Quote:
"We have full, basically, computer editing control, at least on the PS3, through the music studio," he stated in a Shacknews interview. "And that's where I was going when I said that [about a new instrument]."
So hardware issues on 360 not holding back the PS3 version this time, hopefully it will start a new trend...

Does anyone know for sure whether or not Rockband 1 instruments will work with GH: World Tour?

To be honest, I dont really care about the music editor stuff. Im a huge fan of this series but as far as that goes, just really dont care... Also, to the dude 1 post above, i would imagine that the RB1 instruments would work...

Well if they do, then I am just buying the disk version of both titles. Unless there is a momumental improvement in the instruments, I see no reason to re-buy the kit if the original instruments will work for both.

I agree
I have no intention whatsoever of buying the GH:WT instruments, BUT if it works with my RB stuff then MAYBE ill get a used copy of this game eventually.

So basically the music editing stuff is essentially exclusive to the PS3? Thats a pretty big deal since its a pretty big feature.

Well, I do want GH:WT for some of the features not found in Rock Band like the music creator, the much more in depth character creator (they say it's nearly at "Oblivion" level in the amount of customization you can do to your character), songs not found in Rock Band, etc. I think both titles this year are going to be very good and it's going to be a situation where owning both will be worth it for different reasons.

The track list for GHWT is much better than RB2... I think I'll be getting GH.

I think its the other way around. Plus HMX will have over 500 songs in their catalog unlike GH which will be less then 100 and who knows if they will do DLC very often (ala previous GH's) let alone weekly like HMX.

Plus GHWT is NOT getting trophies.

RB2 wins out in just about everything IMO.

Boy,i really dont know why you people like DLC so much. its just a way of the maker to push a game with crappy stuff on it so you spend more money for songs you like. But im also biased towards GH series because i only like playing the guitar and doing that on RB is just too easy...

I never bought much DLC for Rb1, but believe having the option to is awesome, even if you dont buy much. Its pretty much a given that RB2 will have way more DLC available than GHWT

Yea, i agree that it will most likely have more DLC, but look at the track listing, they need the DLC. Id rather buy a $60 game that has the majority of the songs be good than have to go and buy DLC in order to make the game good, but then again, the songs are all opinions i guess....

Over the past 5 weeks, there has been a lot of deliberation over a leaked playlist that is said to feature all of the songs from Guitar Hero: World Tour. Well, chalk this up to one allegation that was genuine, as the leaked setlist from August was pretty much the real deal. Activision has announced the official track listing for the big-band Guitar Hero game, and this one may be the best of the franchise. Acts include 30 Seconds to Mars, Dream Theater, Billy Idol, Foo Fighters (woOt!), Bullet for my Valentine (double woOt!), Jimi Hendrix, Mars Volta, System of a Down (woOt!), TOOL, and even a track from the all new, and very good, Metallica album.

The full list boasts 86 songs, and with many downloadable tracks on their way via PlayStation Network, don't expect to be putting down your videogame instruments anytime soon. Guitar Hero: World Tour will be available on October 26th, make sure you pick it up.

Thats funny because I think the GH guitars look and feel like piece of crap toys compared the strat from RB.

On a sidenote Im cracking up at that set list for GHWT. Considering about 50% of those songs are either ALREADY ON RB or are on the RB2 disc.

So youre "much better disc songs" argument doesnt hold much water here. Especially considering by the end of the year RB will have 500 songs to choose from. Whereas GHWT will be lucky if they see 150.

As for guitar being "harder". That will happen when you overchart songs and throw in notes that dont exist. Ill take realism over making it harder just for the sake of making it harder any day.

i refuse to play any type of guitar "hero" or "rock band" when there is no LED ZEPPELIN. Doesn't make sense to me to be called rock band and not have led zeppelin. Once that day arrives, i will glady join the masses and play
