Heads Up PM When Thread Titles Change

Not complaining or anything but it would be kind/nice to get a pm saying

- hey we changed your thread title to the following... we thought it was better suited, let us know if you have any problems.

Something to that extent would be nice ya know?

i get what you're saying, but i also think if you've titled your thread appropriately there won't be a need for a mod to change it in the first place.

Mods shouldn't have to take the time to PM people who title their threads things like "WHOA I Can't Believe..." or "Check this out" because they should know better. Granted, some people think they are titling their threads correctly, and are somewhat disgruntled when they are changed, and for that I see you point. But good luck getting anything to happen.

I'm assuming this has happened to you more than once. My advice is just try to title your thread as accurately as possible and avoid sensationalism and you should be fine.

It was twice and I am not worried about it - just a kind - HEY - We changed your thread title - notice - would be nice.

They were appropriate.

care if I ask what either of your threads were originally and what they were changed to? i'm curious as to the extent they were changed.

i noticed some threads over the last few days whose titles were just ridiculous, including "...........War?" not sure why they can't just use a normal title and say "War Movies on Blu." be smart, not sensational.

One was "any animal lovers here" - which was change to "bought a dog mattress recently". The other one was the blu-ray on the list of flopped technologies.

first, i'm assuming it was in the off topic section. secondly, i'm guessing it was changed because the mod's wanted you to make it more specific since i'm assuming thats the question you were asking in the thread, or wasn't it? as for the other one, your guess is as good as mine.

i understand how it can be frustrating to have your threads changed and you don't even know about it. i guess just pay attention to why they were changed and try not to make the same mistake again. in terms of getting pmed, maybe a mod will respond to you here, i don't think you necessarily have a bad argument provided a title wasn't ridiculous to begin with. but if mods are changing several titles a day you can bet they aren't going to PM everyone to tell them about it.
