Deception pop noise? - Blu-ray Forum

Hey rented this movie and I would hear a POP every now and then in the audio? anyone else notice this? (rental from netflix)

I have a Yamaha 1900 and a Samsung BDP1000
Running through HDMI passthrough, watched it in DTS-HD MA

btw movie was okay. I expected more?

Sounds like the old DTS bomb. I bet you were bitstreaming it, correct?

Update your receiver's firmware.

That was for the Onkyo AVRs, wasn't it?

I believe it was Onkyo, Integra and Yamaha.

Other issues will cause this to happen as well..

I have my PS3 doing the decoding and send to a Denon 1909 receiver. This receiver has a Dynamic EQ option that you can turn on that makes most sound tracks sound cool but some it causes loud pops now and then with certain movie soundtracks. With those movies I have to turn this option off to fix the issue, but it still sounds great without the Dynamtic EQ.

So check you receiver for some kind of special audio options that may cause the issue as well.

No problems with my Netflix rental.
