What is the best quality CD recording you've heard? Mine has to be B.B. King's Mean Ole' World from a Blues promo CD I got from Monster

Try some of the classical cds on the Telarc label. The only better digital media I've heard is from higher resolution formats.

Heh, I haven't played my Telarc Also sprach Zarathustra since I got the new gear put together. I'll have to give it a spin this weekend.

The DTS stuff sounds great. Porcupine Tree's Fear Of A Blank Planet, Deadwing, Stupid Dream, and Lightbulb Sun sound fantastic.

that's a tough one, as i can't say i've heard a lot of great ones due to the fact that a lot of stuff these days aren't mastered that well and a lot the earlier cd's need better mastering. so i'd have to narrow it down to my favorite recording which happens to be edie brickell and new bohemians' ghost of a dog. it's just got lots of space, breath, warmth, and amazing playing on it. the best electric guitar i have ever heard.

The Beatles Love album that was released a couple years ago had a DTS track and it sounded great. It is the soundtrack to the Cirque de Soleil Las Vegas show. I wasn't a big fan of the mix of the album, but I am a huge Beatles fan.

Id have to say that the DVD Audio version of that album is by far the best sound ive ever heard. I know technically thats not a CD, but it was pretty awesome in 5.1. Also, the DTS CD version of the Police greatest hits or whatever it was sounded pretty awesome as well.

I have the CD and Vinyl. I love living near Los Angeles where you can find just about anything.

The other pick I would mention, because I've heard it but don't own it yet, is:
